The 90 Day Fiancé star has been extremely disliked by viewers throughout season 5. Ben will probably receive even more criticism now from fans who are sure to be furious about his reckless behavior.
On 90 Day Fiancé, 52-year-old youth pastor Ben claimed that it’s God’s will that he pursue his much younger, 22-year-old Peruvian love interest, Mahogany Roca. However, that interest has been pretty one-sided, as Mahogany hasn’t been upfront about details of her life so far, has called Ben out for his past mistakes and won’t even commit to being boyfriend and girlfriend. In recent episodes, Ben seems to be getting the message, and after sending her 10 pages of text messages, he packed up his suitcase. However, there is evidence that Ben and Mahogany are still together after the show, though that may change when Mahogany hears about Ben’s recent arrest.
According to TMZ, Ben was pulled over by Michigan police officers early on Tuesday morning, and it’s safe to say he didn’t pass the sobriety test. The news outlet reports that Ben was arrested for an alleged OUI (operating while under the influence of alcohol) and driving with a suspended license. There were no details on why Ben’s license was suspended in the first place, so it’s possible this wasn’t his first time getting busted for allegedly driving under the influence. Ben’s bond was reportedly set at $10,000, and it’s unclear whether Mahogany was in the car with him at the time, though probably not as evidence indicates she still lives in Peru.
Ben is one of the most disliked 90 Day Fiancé stars this season on Before the 90 Days, and his recent arrest is sure to tarnish his reputation even further. Fans have called Ben out for trying to claim he’s a Godly man while shirking his duties as a father. Many viewers are creeped out by the drastic age difference between Ben and Mahogany. Even though Mahogany hasn’t been honest about herself, Ben is still seen as the worst of the two. Now that he’s been busted for allegedly drunk driving, Ben will be getting even more criticism heaped on him from fans who rightly disapprove of his reckless actions while on the road.
If the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star was hoping to one day repair his reputation in the eyes of the viewers, that’s all over now. Driving while under the influence is extremely dangerous to the driver, passengers and everyone else on the road, and Ben is definitely in the wrong here. There’s no telling what punishment Ben faces, but as a well-known reality TV star, the judge could decide to throw the book at him.
