A KFC Dating Simulator Is Seriously In Development

KFC is apparently working on a Colonel Sanders dating simulator game – I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator, to be exact – in collaboration with developer Psyop, according to a Steam listing that went live earlier today. Dating simulator games are a popular genre on the digital distribution platform, often performing above expectation due to cultivating a fanbase that is hungry for more romance content.

A KFC dating sim isn’t even remotely the most shocking thing to pop up on the Steam platform this year, either. Valve has been struggling with Steam content issues for the better part of a few years now, and 2019 has been marked with some of the worst offences yet, alongside review bombs that have begun to target games that made the leap to the Epic Games Store as part of the latter’s effort to break up Valve’s digital distribution monopoly. Epic Games may have missed a big one, however, as fast food restaurant chain KFC will be taking Colonel Sanders to Steam.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator was listed this morning as “coming soon,” and its Steam product page description is predictably ridiculous. Apparently, I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator will put players in the role of a culinary student who is studying in the same class as a young, handsome, anime Colonel Sanders. There are nine characters in total, and one of them is a professor dog, in case fans were curious just how serious the KFC dating sim will be taking itself.

The listing also promises several hours of gameplay, the potential to acquire a secret ending, cooking battles, and even recipes. The game follows KFC’s attempts at becoming more involved in the video games space, having launched a gaming Twitter called KFC Gaming that recently made headlines for its fondness for Rainbow Six Siege, which it announced as the winner of a voting competition earlier this month. KFC Gaming then promised that it would “put together a reward” for the Rainbow Six Siege family, which, naturally, appears to mean creating an anime-inspired KFC dating simulator.

The announcement of the KFC dating simulator is something no one could have predicted, but seems to fit in with the rest of 2019’s most bizarre gaming moments. It looks like I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator will release fairly soon, too, so fans of fried chicken and anime waifus can unite in their passions on Steam in the near future.
