Ahsoka Fan-Art Imagines Anakin’s Reunion With His Padawan

A new piece of Ahsoka fan-art imagines what it would be like if Anakin Skywalker’s Force ghost appeared opposite his Padawan in the Disney+ show. Following her live-action debut in The Mandalorian season 2 played by Rosario Dawson, Ahsoka Tano’s story will continue with her own spin-off series on the streaming platform.

Introduced as Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated film, Ahsoka subsequently appeared in the Clone Wars series and Star WarsRebels, firmly establishing her place as one of the key players in the space opera. Initially, the reception to the character wasn’t great, but through the years and as her story took shape, Ahsoka became a fan favorite, so much so that she made the jump from animation to live-action in The Mandalorian. Appearing for just one episode, Ahsoka was eventually awarded her own series on Disney+ which will presumably continue her hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Lucasfilm has been mum about the plot details for Ahsoka at this point, and that’s understandable considering the show doesn’t even have a confirmed release date at this point. However, there’s still anticipation for it as evidenced by the constant release of fan content, the latest of which imagines Force ghost Anakin appearing in the project. Hayden Christensen is confirmed to reprise his role as Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series which has now started work. Lucasfilm has been building sets for the show but there have been no signs of the actors as of yet. With that in mind, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that Christensen extends his renewed involvement with Star Wars and films a brief, albeit important, cameo in Ahsoka. Based on what’s known in canon, however, Ahsoka hasn’t learned that her former Jedi Master and friend was redeemed by his son Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, so if the aforementioned scene indeed comes to fruition, there needs to be additional context to it.

It’s currently uncertain what happened to the Force-sensitive Togruta past the events of Ahsoka. The character did make a voice cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, hinting that she’s no longer around during the time of the sequel trilogy. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation about this story detail. While Ahsoka’s upcoming mission in the Disney+ project technically doesn’t have any direct connection to her bond with Anakin, seeing them reunite through the show would still be a massive treat for audiences who have been invested in their relationship since The Clone Wars.
