All American: Will Jordan Appear In Simone’s Homecoming Spinoff?

Simone’s All American spinoff, All American: Homecoming, could potentially include an appearance by Jordan Baker. The CW’s football drama based on Spencer Paysinger’s pre-NFL career has become one of its most popular shows over the years, so it came as no surprise that a spinoff eventually entered development. It was decided that Simone Hicks, who joined All American in season 2 as Jordan’s love interest, was the prime candidate to star in a college-set spinoff, titled All American: Homecoming.

Ever since it was announced that Simone’s All American spinoff was happening, viewers have wondered how the show would resolve her storyline in the main series. All American season 3 saw Jordan and Simone get married secretly in Las Vegas, although they went back to just dating by the season’s conclusion. Season 4 has seen Jordan and Simone try to figure out their future together, with Simone pulled to Bringston University while Jordan makes plans to play football for a junior college. With All American: Homecoming‘s premiere looming, the show hasn’t resolved that storyline, raising the question as to whether Jordan will appear in Simone’s spinoff.

The speculation that Jordan will be in All American: Homecoming is so far nothing more than that. All American season 4 seems to be setting up his future without Simone, and Jordan has not been linked to her spinoff show. Most of the show’s main cast members have already been announced, including Mitchel Edwards returning as Cam Watkins, but Michael Evans Behling hasn’t been reported to make an appearance. Furthermore, anyone involved with All American and All American: Homecoming has yet to comment on the possibility. As a result, the signs aren’t pointing to Jordan’s All American: Homecoming return.

Although there is a chance that Jordan does appear in All American: Homecoming, he won’t become a major character for the spinoff it seems. Not only is the series setting up how he, Spencer, and Billy Baker can be together in college, but All American season 4 also set up a Jordan and Layla romance. This pairing is something viewers have been interested in seeing for a few seasons. If Jordan isn’t in All American: Homecoming, he and Simone will likely break up, allowing both of them to pursue new romantic interests.

It might be disappointing for some viewers if Jordan’s All American future doesn’t include a spinoff appearance, but All American: Homecoming will be better off without him. Without Jordan by Simone’s side at Bringston University or pulling her back home, the series can exist as more of a standalone story that doesn’t need to be as concerned with what Jordan is doing. It opens the door for Simone to have a fresh start at college as she pursues her tennis dreams and possibly a romance with star baseball player Damons Sims (Peyton Alex Smith). For those reasons, Jordan’s All American: Homecoming appearance is better off not happening.

All American: Homecoming debuts on The CW on Monday, February 21 at 9 pm EST.
