Recently, Luke Bryan had to step aside from his judging duties on American Idol due to testing positive for COVID-19. During those episodes, OG Idol judge Paula Abdul filled in for Luke. Alas, the country star thankfully had a quick recovery and was able to return to the judging panel right away. The American Idol viewers have always responded very well to Luke as a judge, and that is the reason why he keeps being brought back season after season.

There are still a few weeks left on American Idol season 19, and Luke Bryan’s feedback to the remaining contestants will be more important than ever now. With that said, it will be up to the fans to vote for their favorites to win the show.
