Among Us’ Impostor Knife Forged In Real Life By Talented Metalworkers

A pair of blacksmiths have created a real-life replica of the Impostor knife from Among Us and tested out just how dangerous the weapon is. The deduction game has become a huge hit since the end of the summer, despite the fact that it originally launched all the way back in 2018. The sudden popularity has even led to developer InnerSloth canceling plans for a sequel so that it can instead concentrate on upgrading the first game.

As well as making headlines in the gaming world, Among Us has also moved into the mainstream. Even high-profile individuals from completely different fields have become involved with the game. Just this week, US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez streamed Among Us via Twitch. The politician is a known fan of gaming and has previously mentioned playing games like League of Legends. However, playing Among Us was more about trying to get more people out to vote in the upcoming elections than just a new hobby for AOC.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Matt Stagmer and Ilya Alekseyev, two bladesmiths from That Works, have forged the Impostor knife from Among Us. The pair revealed the creation during a detailed YouTube video that dives into the creation of the blade. Made from crushed mosaic Damascus steel, the knife is 14 inches long and has the signature pattern from the game etched into the metal. Matt and Ilya later go on to test out just how well the blade works by putting it through a series of tests. That Works is a specialist blacksmithing and metalworking company that has produced a number of impressive pieces based on video games in the past.

Among Us has become a lightning rod for fan art and other imaginative creations over the last few weeks. The relatively simple art style and meme-worthy gameplay have led to a wide range of interesting fan-made content. This includes everything from real-life replicas of the Impostor knife to the horror movie trailers based on the in-game action. There doesn’t seem to be any end in sight either, so players can look forward to plenty more creations in the future.

Among Us only features a few weapons that show up during kill animations and the Impostor knife is by far the most common. That has made it instantly recognizable by gamers worldwide, so it only seemed like a matter of time before someone created a real-life version of the blade. The end result certainly doesn’t disappoint and demonstrates how the Impostor can murder innocent crewmates so easily.

Among Us is available for PC, iOS, and Android.
