Arrowverse: 5 Tallest Superheroes (& 5 Shortest)

Often, superheroes are often taller than most people. The most plausible explanation is that they need to look majestic and imposing when they’re facing their enemies – which happens on regular basis. In the comics, this rule works well. However, films and TV shows are a different story and they don’t always cast super tall actors.

Arrowverse is no exception to this rule. The main factor for casting is how good the actor is, not how tall they are. So it happens that the Arrowverse has a large variety of heights for heroes, from those who are quite tall to some who are shorter than many people might think at a casual glance.

10 Tallest: Mister Terrific, Played By Echo Kellum (6’4”)

Even though Curtis fought alongside Oliver and other members of the team, he’s best known for his technical expertise, knowledge, and ability to invent new things.

Curtis is one of the smartest people in the Arrowverse so unlike in the case of other heroes, Arrow never put that much emphasis on his physique. As a result, it’s easy not to notice that with the height of 6’4” Mister Terrific is even taller than the Green Arrow himself.

9 Tallest: The Elongated Man, Played By Hartley Sawyer (6’3”)

It makes sense that a superhero named the Elongated Man would be taller than most people. In The Flash, Ralph Dibny stands at 6’3” which makes him taller than all other members of the team Flash.

Of course, once he uses his special powers and stretches his body, he can become even taller. Ralph is now mostly gone from the show but if he ever returns with a different face, it remains to be seen whether his height will stay the same or not.

8 Tallest: The Atom, Played By Brandon Routh (6’2”)

Ray Palmer is another superhero whose height people overlook because his character doesn’t have any special powers. Instead, Ray built a hi-tech suit that allows him to shrink down to a minimum size.

Actor Brandon Routh’s height was more noticeable when he reprised his role of Superman in the crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths. Routh is now gone from the Arrowverse so it’s unclear whether he’ll ever return, either as the Atom or as Superman.

7 Tallest: Spartan, Played By David Ramsey (6’2”)

John Diggle might have started as Oliver Queen’s driver/sidekick but he became a superhero in his own right with the nickname Spartan. John Diggle is even taller than Oliver Queen, with his height being 6’2”.

That’s especially noticeable when John interacts with shorter members of the team or spends time with his wife Lyla. Unlike Oliver, John Diggle could potentially return in the future, maybe even as the new Green Lantern.

6 Tallest: Green Arrow, Played By Stephen Amell (6’1″)

With just a smidge over 6ft, Oliver Queen still is one of the tallest superheroes in the Arrowverse. His fighting experience and regular training might make him look taller than he actually is since he has a good posture and holds himself high.

But tall or not, Green Arrow is the ultimate proof that a person doesn’t need superpowers to be a superhero.

5 Shortest: Speedy, Played By Willa Holland (5’5”)

Thea didn’t start out as a superhero but thanks to her determination and training with her father Malcolm, she eventually joined the ranks of heroes.

Thea adopted the superhero name Speedy and fought alongside Oliver. Her actual height comes in at 5’5”.

4 Shortest: Jesse Quick, Played By Violett Beane (5’5”)

Jesse didn’t spend that much time on The Flash but she left her mark nonetheless. Her actress, Violett Beane, portrayed the young speedster with enthusiasm and drive.

Jesse is one of the shortest superheroes around, adding to the theme of multiple speedsters in the Arrowverse not being the tall heroes around.

3 Shortest: White Canary, Played By Caity Lotz (5’4”)

Sara Lance is one of the shortest superheroes in the Arrowverse but she’s powerful. Sara trained with the League of Assassins and mastered their teachings well.

She later went on to become the captain of the Legends and she holds the position to this day. Sara is one of the most capable fighters in the Arrowverse, proving it’s really skills and training that matter most.

2 Shortest: XS, Played By Jessica Parker Kennedy (5’0″)

Better known as Nora West-Allen, Nora inherited her dad’s powers but not his height. In fact, she’s even shorter than her mom Iris who’s 5’4” or 163 cm.

It doesn’t matter, though, since Nora’s power was speed, and runners don’t need to be tall to be fast. Nora did just fine and was in full control of her powers before she was, unfortunately, erased from existence right in front of her parents’ eyes.

1 Shortest: Cecile Horton, Played By Danielle Nicolet (5’0”)

Cecile might not have a superhero name but with her powers evolving, there’s no denying that she’s a hero. She saved Central City when even Barry himself couldn’t do it.

Cecile formerly had the ability to read thoughts and these days, she can sense the emotions of others or also project emotions on other people. She’s one of the shortest people on this list and one of the most heroic.
