Bachelor: What Happened to Jubilee Sharpe From Ben Higgins’ Season

On Monday night, Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelorwas featured on the latest episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Season – Ever!, but the show left fans wondering what happened to Jubilee Sharpe. The notable contestant was such a fan favorite that she was once considered for The Bachelorette, but she was not interviewed in the episode. What has Jubilee been up to since The Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise, and where is she now?

Jubilee’s remarkable and heart wrenching story resonated with Bachelor fans in 2016 when she appeared on the show’s 20th season. She was adopted at six years old, after losing most of her family in Haiti. Her parents and three brothers all died, and she later found out that her little sister had an incurable disease. Jubilee has said before that she does not know any details about her family’s death. She was then adopted by a man who came to Haiti to do relief work, but he was unable to adopt her sister. Jubilee later went on to serve eight years in the US military, making her even more formidable. Although she was eliminated in week 5 of The Bachelor, Jubilee’s story stuck with fans. She appeared on seasons 3 and 5 of Bachelor In Paradise, but failed to make a serious connection in Mexico. Since appearing on the show in 2018, Bachelor fans haven’t heard much from Jubilee.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Perhaps it’s because her Instagram is now private. In an unusual move for a former Bachelor star, Jubilee has been laying low. The only detail visible on her Instagram page is that she lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her Facebook page shows that she’s been actively supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, as she’s posted Change.org petitions and commented on photos of police brutality. She also captioned her latest profile picture, “Feeling black…can’t delete that later.” Jubilee’s Twitter is still public, but not very active. Her latest original tweets are from the most recent Bachelor finale, where she wrote that she is a fan of Hannah Ann Sluss. She tweeted during the show, “This tough Hannah Ann is BEAUTIFUL!” Jubilee is definitely still a fan of the franchise, having also tweeted in support of contestant Tyler Cameron during Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette.

There also may be a darker side to Jubilee’s withdrawal from the spotlight. As reported by People, she was arrested for a DUI in West Palm Beach, Florida earlier this year. The case is still open, and her court date is set for July 6. She reportedly refused to submit to a breathalyzer or urine test, and was released of her own recognizance. This could also be the reason she was not interviewed on the latest episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!

Fans were speculating that Jubilee not being interviewed could be the result of The Bachelor’s racial bias. The show has been in hot water recently as former contestants and fans rallied for more racial diversity on the show. Matt James was recently cast as the first Black Bachelor, but the show is promising more steps in the right direction. Maybe they could start with giving us a more thorough update on Jubilee’s life!
