Batman V Superman Blu-ray Special Features & Box Art Revealed

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is beginning to wind down its run as a theatrical release, and while the film’s final box office tally didn’t reach the record-breaking numbers that many had expected, the DC Extended Universe “kickoff” movie was still a fairly sizeable success. So it’s not surprising that Warner Bros. would be planning a fairly lavish rollout for the feature’s debut on Blu-ray and DVD – especially considering that hype for the film’s 3 hour long R-rated “ultimate” home video cut began mere weeks after it was released.

Now, the box art and features for the release have been revealed by CBM. While several different versions of the film will be available for purchase, including retailer-exclusive special editions packaged with figurines of either Batman or Superman, this new image from CBM offers the first look at the stand-alone disc release for the “Ultimate” edition. Notably, while other box-art previously released (and teased) for the various discs have featured only Batman and Superman themselves, this particular cover places Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman at the forefront between her two male counterparts.

– Uniting The World’s Finest

– Gods and Men: A Meeting of Giants

– The Warrior, The Myth, The Wonder

– Accelerating Design: The New Batmobile

– Analyzing A New Legacy Of Design: Superman

– Analyzing A New Legacy Of Design: Batman

– Analyzing A New Legacy Of Design: The Batcave

News of the new box-art and feature details comes amid a busy period of news for the film itself and the DC Extended Universe mega-franchise: Director Seth Grahame-Smith has dropped out of The Flash, and similar rumors related to Aquaman’s James Wan were serious enough to warrant a public rebuttal. Most recently, it was announced that Ben Affleck will be taking on an executive producer role on Justice League – widely seen a further attempt at course correction by a studio still stinging from the unexpectedly negative reception that greeted Batman V Superman itself.

On the other hand, the film does have a multitude of fans and passionate defenders, many of whom will no doubt greet news of big, features-packed release with great relief and have already expressed positive anticipation for Zack Snyder’s “ultimate” cut of the film; which is expected to clarify several key plot details while also providing an even darker, more violent version of the film. Fans will also likely be on the lookout for any new information (or teases) for upcoming DCEU projects like Wonder Woman and Justice League, both of which are current filming, and Suicide Squad, which is due for release in August.
