Big Brother: The 8 Best Double Evictions, Ranked

The show Big Brother first surprised houseguests with the Double Eviction in season 5. Since then, almost every season has featured a Double Eviction, which includes two people being sent home on the same night, oftentimes one after the other in rapid sequence. In fact, the only season that didn’t feature one was season 11 due to Chima Simone being ejected from the game for throwing her mic pack into the water after being upset that the Coup D’Etat power was being used during her HoH. And on season 22, there was a Triple Eviction instead of a Double.

A few seasons, especially earlier on, have seen two people go home during the same week, but on different days. One of the most notable of this kind was on season 6 when Janelle sent Jennifer packing, followed by Rachel, in retribution against their backstabbing of Kayser.

But when it comes to the true Double Evictions that occur one after another, they can truly shake the house up. Players know it’s coming and have to adjust strategies accordingly to avoid someone on the other side of the house winning HoH and being able to swiftly send them home. Because of this, some of the Double Evictions have been very entertaining.

8 Jessica And Christie: Big Brother 21

Christie was the big fish in this Double Eviction who was finally sent home after being put on the block time after time. Not only that, but underdog Nicole Anthony twisted the knife further by putting Christie up beside her close ally (and, unbeknownst to others in the house at that time, personal friend from real life) Tommy.

It took five nominations to finally get Christie out, but what made her eviction sweeter is that it was at the hands of Nicole. She had been underestimated all season but was the one who got to finally seal the deal.

7 Jessica And Eric: Big Brother 8

The perfect example of a showmance gone wrong, both Eric and Jessica were voted out on the same day. First, Jessica was sent home with a 2-1 vote then Eric followed shortly after with a 2-0 vote.

Sadly, Eric’s game was doomed from the moment he was named America’s Player and had to make moves that jeopardized his actual alliance. He did walk home with cash prizes though and remains one of the best players to have never won the game.

6 Matt And Brendon: Big Brother 12

Britney Haynes, the last woman standing this season, ended up getting taken out by The Brigade alliance, which remains one of the strongest ever from the series. But she did some damage of her own before she realized she could never penetrate their alliance.

After Matt proved himself disloyal to her by trying to get his friend Ragan evicted, Britney put him on the block. But host Julie Chen shocked players by revealing right before Matt was sent home that it would actually be Double Eviction night. Hayden Moss, who won the season, was named HoH and nominated Ragan and Brendon. When Ragan won the HoH, it was clear that power player and competition beast Brendon’s time in the house was over.

5 Michelle And Bryan: Big Brother 10

Another epic Dan Gheesling moment, he won HoH after making a deal with Ollie that he would keep both Ollie and one other person at his request safe from eviction that week. Dan also promised Ollie that he could pick one of the people who went up and even the replacement nominee if someone came off the block. Dan’s argument was that he didn’t care about the HoH but just wanted to get the letter from his family. The deal was far too good to be true, yet Ollie fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

Of course, it was all a lie. Dan did initially keep his promise and put up Memphis. But after Memphis won the Veto, Dan put Michelle up – the very person Ollie wanted to save along with himself – and she went home. Right after that, Keesha was named HoH and put Ollie on the block. When Dan won the Veto, he didn’t take Ollie off the block, making it one of the best Veto players in the series history and Ollie a laughing stock for letting Dan manipulate him.

4 Candice And Judd: Big Brother 15

It was more so the Judd part of this Double Eviction that was most shocking, even eliciting audible gasps from the in-studio audience when Aaryn put him up on the live show. Judd and Aaryn had been friendly up to that point so it came as a total surprise that she aligned with the rest of the house to take him out.

Judd used his last few moments between evictions to desperately plead with Aaryn, and to anyone who would listen, to stick with the plan (which he didn’t realize was to get him out) and get rid of someone else. In the end, he was not only sent packing second, but voted out unanimously at 7-0.

3 Daniele And Jeff: Big Brother 13

What stung more than Dani and Jeff Schroeder, both power players, being sent home on the same day was when Jeff got to the jury house and watched the playback of the Veto competition. As the players searched for clown shoes in a ball pit, he realized that he accidentally tossed one of his shoes out of the box while frantically searching, making it impossible for him to have won the challenge.

Interestingly, Kalia, who nominated Jeff and effectively had him evicted, was evicted just 12 days later and Jeff’s showmance partner and eventual wife Jordan ended up getting evicted a couple of days later. It was such a great double eviction because it saw power shift back and forth from one side of the house to the other and two huge threats in the game go out back-to-back.

2 Amanda And Elissa: Big Brother 15

It was a frenzy when McCrae won HoH and had to make a quick decision. But what was most confusing is that he evicted Elissa, who was the only person left in the house who wasn’t really coming after him.

Emotions were running high because, right before he won, McCrae saw his showmance partner Amanda get the boot. He was convinced Elissa had something to do with it. But what made this Double Eviction so notable is that, in reality, it was crafty Andy (who went on to win the season) who made the deciding vote and framed Elissa for it. Amanda and Elissa had their own rivalry while in the house, so it’s interesting that they were both evicted on the same night.

1 Frank Eudy And Joe: Big Brother 14

The best part of this Double Eviction wasn’t so much who went home but who didn’t go home. Fan-favorite player Dan Gheesling was gunning for Ian Terry – a smart move seeing as Ian went on to beat Dan in the final two to win the entire game.

But when Ian flew through the Veto competition and won, throwing his game piece down in excitement that he had saved himself when he needed it the most, fans loved the underdog story. They also loved watching Dan scramble to figure out what to do once he could no longer send home his primary target. In the end, he put up his own ally Danielle as a pawn to ensure that Joe would go home.
