Breath Of The Wild Player Discovers Barrel Stealth Trick

Barrels in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild clearly haven’t gotten enough attention over the years, as it’s recently become publicly apparent that Link can hide in them to stealth through enemies. This discovering is becoming news over four years after the game’s initial release.

This is far from the first time that barrel mechanics have been suddenly discovered. In May, players were suddenly graced with the news that Link can ride Breath of the Wild‘s barrels. As is the case with many popular, expansive open worlds in gaming, players have continued to explore and experiment in Hyrule long after the game’s release. The game’s 2017 launch was a momentous one in Nintendo’s history, receiving universal critical acclaim and millions of dedicated fans. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 was officially said to be in development during Nintendo’s E3 2019 presentation, and it’s highly hoped to be present in some form at E3 2020.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

As exciting as a Breath of the Wild sequel is, the original game still has more new things for players to experience. Recently, a video of Link hiding in a barrel and moving through enemies like in The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker‘s first level was posted on Reddit by user NoOneButEllio. The video shows Link passing by enemies Metal Gear Solid-style with a barrel over his head, stopping when near enemies as not to arouse suspicion.

Breath of the Wild discoveries do not cease to impress. Shortly after this post, a Sheikah Tower detail also came to light that demonstrates the incredible precision Hyrule was crafted with. However, as impressive as the world is in Breath of the Wild, there are plenty of bugs and glitches that players are also discovering. These are often exploited to achieve fascinating new things in the game, but other times, they’re simply fun to watch and hilarious changes of pace in such a well-made game. Nonetheless, these exploits serve the same purpose as newly discovered mechanics: to enhance and expand the experience of Breath of the Wild.

It’s hard to believe that since its 2017 release, Breath of the Wild’s mysteries have persisted. Players are continually intrigued with its lore, something that is alluded to quite well through environmental storytelling, and seemingly limitless emergent gameplay. Whenever the sequel hits store shelves, it will be well before the ends of Breath of the Wild are reached. With that said, fans can only hope that the second game comes sooner rather than later.
