Captain America & Wonder Woman Share A Dance In Marvel/DC Fan Art

Captain America and Wonder Woman share a fiery dance in this Marvel and DC crossover fan art. Both comic book superheroes have become stars of the big screen in recent years thanks to their respective franchises. Captain America first joined the MCU in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger before going on to appear in eight additional films. He last starred in Avengers: Endgame, which also marked his final MCU movie. Meanwhile, Diana/Wonder Woman continues to dominate the DCEU after debuting in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She’ll next appear in Wonder Woman 1984, which recently moved (again) from August to October.

Despite coming from two different franchises, there are a lot of similarities between Cap’s first solo adventure and Diana’s. Both The First Avenger and Wonder Woman take place within a world war, and they feature a guy named Steve (Rogers and Trevor) who ends up sacrificing himself in a plane. Even their sequels, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Wonder Woman 1984 feature the same plot point: A beloved, long-lost figure somehow returning (Bucky Barnes in the former, Steve Trevor in the latter).

It would be pretty awesome to see Captain America and Wonder Woman meeting up somehow, and that seems to be what artist Alon Chou was thinking when creating this new piece. It shows Captain America and Wonder Woman dancing, and it looks like they get pretty close. You can see it for yourself in the space below.

I always wanted to draw a piece of When Wonder Woman Met Captain America…, Because these two people can’t meet 😆 一直想畫神力女超人遇見美國隊長,因為這兩位永遠沒法見面,實在可惜❤️ / #DC #Marvel #WonderWoman #CaptainAmerica #ChrisEvans #GalGadot #GonewiththeWind #alonchou #digitalpainting #hero

Dancing holds some special significance for both Cap and Diana. In Wonder Woman, Diana and Steve dance on the eve of their their infiltration of a German ball. However, Captain America’s dance plays a more pivotal role in his MCU journey. In The First Avenger, he promises to dance with Peggy Carter once the war was over, but he plunges into the Atlantic before he actually can. That lost dance haunts Steve for years after. Finally, though, the final moments of Endgame show he finally gets his moment with Peggy.

Marvel/DC crossovers are nothing new, as fans often want to see the biggest heroes in the comic book world come together. Meanwhile, their universes continue to grow on the big screen. The MCU starts Phase 4 this fall with Black Widow and its new Disney+ shows, while the DCEU continues to evolve with less of a focus on the connected universe model. They both remain apart, but fan creations can always be counted on to bring them together.
