Chris Hemsworth Poses With Thor 4 Fake Loki Actor Matt Damon & Director Taika Waititi

Chris Hemsworth poses alongside his Thor: Love and Thunder co-star Matt Damon and director Taika Waititi in a new, boy band-like picture. For the first time ever, an MCU hero is getting a fourth solo film, with Hemsworth once again starring as Thor Odinson in Love and Thunder. The highly-anticipated project was announced back in 2019 and is currently scheduled for release in May 2022. Love and Thunder will pick up with Thor following the events of Avengers: Endgame, which last saw him jetting off into space alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Though the plot details for Thor: Love and Thunder are still being kept under wraps, a good chunk of its supporting cast has already been revealed. In addition to returning franchise stars like Natalie Portman and Jaimie Alexander, the film will include members of the Guardians like Chris Pratt and Karen Gillian. Newcomers to the MCU include Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. Perhaps most hilariously, Thor 4 will once again include actors playing Thor and his family, a bit that was first introduced in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. Damon will once again play the fake Loki alongside Luke Hemsworth (Thor) and Sam Neill (Odin), while Melissa McCarthy joins as a fake Hela.

Hemsworth and the Thor: Love and Thunder cast have been hard at work on the film since late January, and fans have been treated to numerous set photos over the past few months. The latest glimpse at the cast, though, comes from Hemsworth directly. In the picture, Hemsworth poses alongside Waititi and Damon in a way meant to evoke a boy band, as is evidenced by his caption: “Album drops next week.” Check out the Love and Thunder boys down below.

Thor: Love and Thunder‘s cast has been described as an Avengers-level group, and that so far does not appear to be an understatement. The movie looks to be comprised of new and familiar faces, and fans have even speculated about those who could be involved with the film, but haven’t been confirmed. For example, Jeff Goldblum is suspected to return as Ragnarok‘s Grandmaster, and many still hold out hope Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will make an appearance. Even if he doesn’t though, there will definitely be a Loki in Thor 4 thanks to Damon.

Seeing as production has been underway for a few months now, Thor 4 could be wrapping up by early summer. With so many Marvel movies scheduled before Thor: Love and Thunder‘s release, it might still be a while before fans learn how all these cast members are tied together. Until then, though, they can enjoy all the wonderful behind the scenes peeks that have emerged in recent months. Perhaps Hemsworth will share a few more before filming comes to an end.
