Destiny 2: How to Get ‘The Steady Hand’ Hand Cannon (& God Roll)

Destiny 2 returns Iron Banner to the available playlists under Crucible once a month, and the second Iron Banner week for Season of the Splicer is here to allow Guardians the chance to prove themselves. Iron Banner is only due to return once more this season, making the grind for its unique weapons and gear highly sought after. There are a number of rewards players can earn through Iron Banner tokens, bounties, and the Iron-Handed Diplomacy quest.

While a number of weapons such as Iron Banner’s Riiswalker Shotgun and Finite Impactor can be unlocked through the Iron-Handed Diplomacy quest, there are several weapons that can be earned through Iron Banner tokens only. Iron Banner tokens can be earned through completing bounties from Lord Saladin, or winning or losing Iron Banner matches. A win will reward players five Iron Banner Tokens, while losing only yields three tokens. Exchanging 20 will award players with a Legendary Iron Banner Engram – and a chance to earn The Steady Hand Hand Cannon.

Destiny 2: How to Get ‘The Steady Hand’ Hand Cannon (& God Roll)

The Steady Hand Hand Cannon is a powerful weapon, perfect for many situations in both PvP and PvE. It deals Kinetic damage with a 92 Impact, and 120 RPM, making it on par damage-wise with Bottom Dollar. When a player Masterworks this weapon they’ll have an increase to The Steady Hand’s Stability – something that falls short on with a base stat of 32. Unlike the Bottom Dollar Hand Cannon or most Legendary Hand Cannons for that matter, this weapon has a ton of viable perks great for both PvP and PvE. The trick is to know which perks are best for what, but it’s almost impossible to receive a poor roll.

Legendary Sight

  • Steadyhand HCS (PvP/PvE)
  • Truesight HCS (PvP/PvE)
  • Fastdraw HCS (PvE)
  • Hitmark HCS (PvP)

Legendary Magazine

  • High-Caliber Rounds (PvP/PvE)
  • Light Mag (PvP/PvE)
  • Extended Mag (PvE)
  • Appended Mag (PvE)
  • Flared Magwell (PvE)
  • Ricochet Rounds (PvP)

Legendary Trait 1

  • Quickdraw (PvP/PvE)
  • Outlaw (PvP/PvE)
  • Slideshot (PvP/PvE)
  • Killing Wind (PvP)
  • Zen Movement (PvP)
  • Moving Target (PvP

Legendary Trait 2

  • Swashbuckler (PvP/PvE)
  • Wellspring (PvP/PvE)
  • Mulligan (PvP)
  • Snapshot Sights (PvP)

Given The Steady Hand’s usefulness at mid to long-distance, it’s best to pair this weapon with close or mid-range weapons like a Shotgun, Sub Machine Gun, or Sidearm. This Hand Cannon has been a returning Iron Banner weapon for some time, so if anyone misses it this time around it will be back for one more week this Season. After that, the next time this weapon will be available is most likely the first Iron Banner week in Season 15 of Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia platforms.
