The Derrico family turned into an army of 16 on the TLC reality show Doubling Down With The Derricos, and as they come back for season 2, Karen and Deon might have a new baby on the way. Season 1 was filled with bittersweet surprises for the Las Vegas couple, with Karen welcoming triplets. After multiple sets of multiples, 2021 appears to have even more shocks in store. The network has finally renewed Karen and Deon’s show, with its season 2 premiering on Tuesday, June 1 at 10 p.m. on TLC. However, the Doubling Down With The Derricos couple might see their problems multiply with Karen and Deon navigating health scares, a potential pregnancy, and a kid who is ready for dating.

Sta-at-home mother Karen, real estate owner Deon, and their 14 children, including two singletons, quintuplets, triplets, and two sets of twins, formed the super-sized family of Doubling Down With The Derricos. Season 1 started off with Karen ready to deliver her new set of triplets. The season also showed the family going through quarantine, and then experiencing a frightening ER trip for a little one that required heart surgery. As fans kept up with the TLC couple on Instagram after the finale, they wondered when breastfeeding advocate Karen and former actor Deon would return to reality TV. And while Double Down With The Derricos is back with season 2, it doesn’t necessarily come bearing happy news.

TLC released a new sneak peek for Doubling Down With The Derricos season 2 (seen below), which starts off with Karen, Deon, and their 14 kiddos planning a COVID-safe Halloween dance competition. And while “Disco with the Derricos” may become the highlight of the season, it’s also Deon’s OCD that reaches scary heights in the pandemic with the doting dad wanting to keep every counter as clean as possible. Karen also appears to be teaching her children about Black History Month, which has the Derrico starlets dressing up as icons such as Barack and Michelle Obama, as well as Colin Kaepernick.

However, things soon go hunky-dory for the Doubling Down With The Derricos when Karen discovers she’s a week late. Deon’s mother and fan-favorite GG doesn’t take too well to the news of a possible 15th baby for Karen. She tells the cameras, “it’s overwhelming with the ones that’s there.” But the scariest aspect of season 2 of Doubling Down With The Derricos is certainly a new health scare when Karen and Deon are told that Diez, the “triplin’” having a very elongated head. A condition called “sagittal craniosynostosis” is suggested by the doctor who tells the Derrico parents it could cause Diez “coordination issues and developmental delay.”

A weary Deon says, “Out of all the things I’ve ever fought in my life, this has to be the hardest one,” when the sneak peek reveals Diez would have to go through a dangerous surgery. The family has dealt with a similar situation with “Awesome Dawysn” going through two heart surgeries, the flu, pneumonia, and COVID-19. And with Diez having lost a baby brother Carter during birth, the baby being sick poses as a bigger trauma for Karen and Deon. But with every member of the Doubling Down With The Derricos family having a story to be proud of, little Diez too will surely prove that he’s a superhero by the end of the season.

Doubling Down With The Derricos season 2 premieres Tuesday, June 1 at 10 pm on TLC.
