Bruno’s Magical Visions

Artwork by @encanto._.the.madrigals

Bruno Madrigal was Mirabel’s unspoken uncle. When Mirabel was a child, Bruno disappeared and the Madrigal family had no idea what became of him.

After Bruno received the power of psychic abilities, he got a bad reputation. The Madrigals felt like Bruno was out to get them, which is why he had to leave. When Mirabel eventually found Bruno, it was proven that he was not a bad guy and never intended his visions to be used for evil. This image of Bruno was created by @encanto._.the.madrigals on Instagram and it’s a beautiful representation of the green aura that surrounds him during his visions.

Sisters & Cousins

The Madrigal kids were some of the most likable characters in Encanto. They were pure and dedicated family members who wanted what was best for Casita.

There were so many characters within the Madrigal family that some viewers had a hard time keeping up. In short, Mirabel had two sisters (Isabela and Luisa). Those three then had three cousins (Camilo, Antonio, and Dolores). Here, @Leeloxxie created a stunning digital portrait of the cousins and siblings piggybacking off Luisa to showcase her strength.

Dolores Singing About Bruno

As Mirabel’s cousin, Dolores was gifted the power of hearing anything and everything, regardless of distance. If there was a secret inside Casita, Dolores knew about it because she heard it through the walls.

Above, @Lepouf_Art created a digital work of art of Dolores singing “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” During the song, fans loved her verse as she danced alongside Mirabel and warned her of contacting Bruno.

Isabela’s New Outlook On Life

Isabela Madrigal was Mirabel’s older sister. Her power was the ability to create flowers at a given moment. Flowers surrounded her and her entire room was covered in beautiful, blossoming flowers. Isabela’s perfection bothered Mirabel and the two resented each other because of their differences.

After Mirabel and Isabela made up, something changed in Isabela. She finally spoke her mind and wasn’t afraid of being viewed as imperfect. @Chel_Illust showed Isabela’s transformation perfectly in this concept art — especially the difference in her hair color.

It Looks As If Camilo Is Hiding Something

Camilo was Mirabel’s cousin who could shapeshift. Unlike her serious sisters, Camilo’s personality type was lighthearted and goofy, which was fun for viewers to watch on-screen.

@Shrimpeii_2101 designed a remarkable rendition of Camilo digitally. The gleaming bit of sun on his face makes his green eyes glisten. Although not much was known about Camilo in Encanto, this digital artwork leads fans to think there’s more to him than what was shown.

A Lifelike Sketch Of A Young Mirabel

The start of Encanto shows a young Mirabel excited to learn about her magical gift. However, when she went to her door, it disappeared. Among the Madrigals, Mirabel was the only one to not receive a gift. Since then, she never felt like she belonged with her family.

A small character detail that separated Mirabel from everyone else was that she was the only one with glasses. And @Dhiyartista drew them perfectly in this pencil sketch. It was a small detail that made her unique compared to the family.

Sisterly Fun

This art featuring Mirabel, Luisa, and Isabela shows the beauty of their sisterhood. Although the three sisters had their differences in Encanto, there’s no denying that they were on a path to a better relationship. If there is a spinoff in the works, a scene like the one @Mbrleigh created would be happily received.

All Mirabel wanted was to be accepted by her family members and to be seen as an equal part of the Madrigals, and this art shows Mirabel’s possible future.

A Dark Vision

Bruno got no credit for taking a step away from the family so as not to hurt them because of his psychic abilities. They continued to view him as a problem child until Mirabel introduced him back into the family. However, without this Encanto character’s intelligence and selflessness, the Madrigals would have continued to suffer.

@Minze.k created a lifelike illustration of Bruno after one of his visions. His mysterious green aura surrounds him as he looks off into the distance, making it incredibly similar to the movie.

@Ydk_dny created a beautiful take on the Madrigal family. With Abuela Alma in the center, her kids and grandkids surround her. Each Encanto character has a unique personality type that makes them different and important.

Through this digital art piece, fans of the film can see the love and compassion the family has for their matriarch as the golden butterflies surround them.

Alma & Bruno Together At Last

Alma did not always treat Mirabel with respect or kindness like she did with the other family members. Mirabel assumed it was because she wasn’t given a power like the rest of her family, which ended up being true. Alma also judged her son Bruno for his dark powers instead of empowering him.

By the end of the movie, however, Mirabel and Alma came to an understanding and made up. Bruno made an appearance shortly after, which shocked viewers because he hadn’t talked to his mother in years. To his surprise, she embraced him warmly and called him her “Bonito.” The short quote was inspiring. This art piece from @Melon.Sharks recreated the scene beautifully.
