Every Radio Station In GTA: Vice City, Ranked Worst To Best

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series wouldn’t be the same without the smorgasbord of parody radio stations it lets gamers tune into whenever they go for a joyride. These broadcasts include a broad scope of music genres that feature legendary artists as well as hysterical advertisements and talk shows. No other GTA game can rival the iconic sounds that blasted out of Vice City‘s vehicles.

While the 2002 release only had nine stations – compared to GTA 5‘s 21 different channels – it contained a multitude of karaoke bangers, like “Africa” by Toto and “Your Love” by The Outfield, and some of the most bombastic, fictional radio personalities. Long-time fans of Rockstar’s open-world crime adventure might eventually get to relive these memories on modern gaming hardware.

An alleged GTA 6 leaked titled “Project Americas,” claims that Rockstar’s next installment for the series will be partially set in Vice City. Plus, fan GTA fans are convinced that the recently released Cayo Perico Heist expansion to GTA Online is hinting at the imminent return of Vice City. None of that chatter has been confirmed yet, but it proves to be true gamers could get updated version of their favorite radio stations in GTA: Vice City. Below is a ranking of all of the Vice City radio broadcasts, starting from the forgettable and ending with the most memorable.

GTA: Vice City Radio Stations, From Worst To Best

9. K-Chat: This is one of the two stations that are exclusively talk shows, and its comedy skits tend to dry out pretty quickly. The show revolves around host Amy Sheckenhausen (voiced by Leyna Weber), who either gushes over her celebrity guests or completely ignores them.

8. Radio Espantoso: This Spanish Jazz station fit perfectly with Vice City‘s fictional Miami theme. A lot of its tracks will make gamers bop their heads, but most of them are lacking lyrics, which has made the Radio Espantoso fade into the background compared to the game’s catchier stations.

7. VCPR: The talk show is hosted by Maurice Chavez, whose “press the issues” segment can be hit or miss. Chavez is often heard bickering with his guests and is even held at gunpoint in one episode. Tuning in will make gamers raise their eyebrows or burst out laughing.

6. Wildstyle: This station focused on hip-hop and electronic music that was hosted by real-life DJ John “Mr. Magic” Rivas. The broadcast featured classic 1980s tunes like “Rock Box” by Run-D.M.C. and “The Message” by Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, which Ice Cube sampled in his 1993 single “Check Yo Self.”

5. Wave 103: Synthpop and New Wave music dominated the radio around the world in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It has since become predominately associated with media that’s inspired by the time period, making its songs like “Sunglasses at Night” by Corey Hart Vice City anthems.

4. Fever 105: This disco and R&B station deserve a spot in the top four because of its sheer nostalgia factor. Tracks like “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin” by Michael Jackson and “Automatic” by The Pointer Sisters perfectly encapsulate the neon-drenched dance parties of the late 1970s.

3. Emotion 98.3: There isn’t a voice more memorable on the Vice City airwaves that Fernando Martinez. The mustachioed DJ would spin pop and soft rock tracks, like “Africa” by Toto and “Keep On Loving You” by REO Speedwagon. Barring a few dated jokes, Emotion is an unforgettable part of every car ride through the 2002 GTA installment.

2. V-Rock: Glam and thrasher metal are a definitive product of the period and V-Rock blasted everything from Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, KISS, and much more. DJ Lazlow is single-handedly responsible for turning a legion of early 2000s gamers into metal heads.

1. Flash FM: Likely the main station of many GTA: Vice City players, Flash FM spun the top 100 tracks of the 1970s and 1980s. Musicians like Hall and Oates, Michael Jackson, and The Outfield cemented a playlist that perfectly captures driving past the palm trees and art deco architecture of Vice City.
