Genshin Impact 1.6: All Confirmed New Playable Characters

Like clockwork, Genshin Impact gets major content updates that add in new characters, weapons, events, and more. The latest livestream for Version 1.6 revealed a lot, including the confirmation of new playable characters that will be getting their own Banners in the next big update. Here’s everything fans should know.

Previously, characters like Yoimiya and Ayaka were rumored for the 1.6 content. Thanks to the Genshin Impact 1.6 beta, Kazuha had leaked online and was speculated as being added in the update as well. Given how accurate the leaks from the 1.5 beta turned out to be, many fans were certain the 1.6 leaks would be true too.  Thanks to the latest livestream, which has aired for audiences in miHoYo’s home country of China already, fans now know which characters to expect next.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Genshin Impact 1.6 livestream revealed a lot of exciting new details, but as usual, a lot of attention was on the newest playable characters being added to the game. Thankfully, the livestream kicked off by revealing Kazuha as an officially confirmed new character. With his powerful blade attacks and an emphasis on loving nature, Kazuha looks like a pretty interesting character right now. Many of his animations involve wind and leaves, and the leaves change color based on what Elemental Reactions are triggered. He can also pull enemies toward him and then launch them into the air.

When Kazuha Is Playable In Genshin Impact 1.6

Kazuha is an Anemo user, so his attacks are wind-based. He will be featured on his own Banner, but it will happen after Klee gets a Banner rerun. This means Kazuha won’t be available as soon as the 1.6 content drops, but Kazuha’s character Banner should appear around three weeks after Version 1.6 launches.

Thus far, other rumored characters like Yoimiya and Ayaka have not been confirmed. However, one or both of them may arrive as part of a Banner later on, similar to the way Hu Tao was a surprise Banner at the end of the Version 1.4 content. However, since Ayaka appears at the end of the livestream, it looks like she may not appear as a playable character until the next Genshin Impact update after 1.6 arrives, since she says she’s in Inazuma (which isn’t a part of the 1.6 update, unfortunately) and hopes to meet players soon.

While the livestream gave fans plenty to look forward to, they’ll have to wait just a pit longer to see these features and Kazuha appear in-game. The Version 1.6 update for Genshin Impactwon’t arrive until June 9 (or June 8, depending on time zones), and Kazuha’s Banner won’t arrive until a bit later.
