Genshin Impact Reveals Ayaka’s Backstory In Emotional Character Teaser

Ahead of her Genshin Impact Version 2.0 debut as a playable character, miHoYo has released an emotional teaser trailer for Ayaka that fills in gaps about her backstory. Ayaka isn’t new to the world of Genshin Impact by any means; in fact, she appeared as a playable hero during the free-to-play title’s beta phase.

Thanks to her place among the nobility in the Inazuma region, Ayaka will play a major role in Update 2.0, which will make the territory an explorable space for users. The forthcoming update should add at least two other playable characters as well, including the ninja known as Sayu and the pyrotechnic Yoimiya. Of course, the next major patch will also introduce several new weapons, fresh events, and another slate of bosses to fight, the latter of which includes Magu Kenki, Pyro Hypostasis, and Ruin Sentinel.

Developer miHoYo recently released a brand-new character teaser centered on Ayaka. Laden with an emotional musical score, the Genshin Impact trailer runs a little less than two minutes in length but paints a clear picture of Ayaka’s intriguing backstory. As a daughter of the Yashiro Commission’s Kamisato Clan, Ayaka carries herself with great poise. Her responsibilities revolve around the clan’s various internal and external affairs, tasks which lend themselves well to her generally good-hearted demeanor. Players can expect to dive deeper into Ayaka’s story when she becomes playable with the advent of Genshin Impact 2.0.

Fortunately, the wait for the eagerly-anticipated 2.0 is nearly at an end since miHoYo plans to unleash Genshin Impact’s updated version next week on Wednesday, July 21. Again, players can expect to gain access to a brand-new region, new playable characters, and much more.

A free-to-play action-RPG available on PC, mobile, and console, Genshin Impact launched in September 2020. It quickly grew in popularity, charming players with its beautiful world, exciting gameplay, and endearing cast of characters. MiHoYo’s ongoing support keeps users going back for more, too, as the addition of new characters, regions, mini-games, and events constantly increase the experience’s replayablity. Cleary the game isn’t going anywhere anytime soon; thus, it’ll be interesting to see how the development team continues to up the ante in the years to come.

Genshin Impact is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Android, and iOS devices.
