Halloween’s Luckiest Recurring Character Survived Every Timeline

Warning: Spoilers Ahead For Halloween Kills

Lindsey Wallace returned to the Halloween franchise for Halloween Kills, and here’s why she might just be the luckiest recurring figure in the whole series. Outside of Michael Myers himself, the Halloween franchise has many recurring characters. The late, great Donald Pleasence played Michael’s nemesis, Dr. Loomis, in five movies with Malcolm McDowell later inhabiting the role for both of Rob Zombie’s Halloween outings. Obviously, Jamie Lee Curtis is the series MVP and has played Laurie Strode across six Halloween movies, and will return once more (likely for the final time) in Halloween Ends.

The Halloween movie franchise has many more recurring side characters, though. There’s Jamie Lloyd – Laurie’s daughter in the Halloween 4 to 6 timeline – Sheriff Brackett, Tommy Doyle and many more. Lindsey Wallace was first introduced in 1978’s Halloween, where Laurie babysits her and Tommy on the fateful night Michael Myers first came home. While never a main character in the series, she’s appeared in multiple entries, including a cameo role in Halloween 4 and Zombie’s 2007 remake.

Kyle Richards played Lindsey Wallace in Halloween 1978, and after a gap of 40 years, reprised the part for Halloween Kills. This entry saw the town of Haddonfield – including Tommy and the retired Brackett – uniting to take down Michael Myers for good. Of course, that doesn’t quite good to plan, considering Halloween Kills record body count. Lindsey Wallace comes face to mask with Michael, but whereas essentially every other character who faces Myers in the sequel dies, Lindsey manages to get away and survive.

Halloween Kills is a particularly unsparing entry, with returning characters like Tommy, Lonnie and even Laurie Strode’s daughter Karen (Judy Greer) ending the movie dead. Over the span of 12 Halloween movies, essentially every major character has died at least once. Laurie has died in multiple, now non-canon timelines, both the Pleasence and McDowell Loomis’ have perished, and now even the likes of Tommy Doyle and Brackett have done the same. That leaves Lindsey Wallace as the rare, recurring Halloween franchise character who has yet to die across the tangled continuity.

Richards’ Lindsey ended Halloween Kills in hospital for her injuries, and while it’s not confirmed currently, it appears she may return for Halloween Ends. Maybe that will be the Halloween entry where Lindsey’s luck finally runs out, but there’s also a decent chance she’ll make keep her spotless survivors’ record. Of course, one reason she’s made it so far is she’s never been in serious danger before Halloween Kills. Michael Myers’ target in both Halloween and its 2007 remake was Laurie, who shielded Lindsey and Tommy from the “boogeyman” while she never encountered him in Halloween 4. Time will tell how Halloween Ends for Lindsey Wallace, but hopefully, she survives the boogeyman one last time.
