How To Build The Snowfox in Subnautica: Below Zero

Subnautica: Below Zero requires players to traverse the frozen environment of Planet 4546B as efficiently as possible. Due to Planet 4546B’s hazardous, frigid environment, vehicles can be useful to players on their journeys. Players may traverse the water using machines like the Seatruck, Sea Glide, or Prawn Suit, but when it comes to land traversal, there is only one option: the Snowfox. Here’s how players can build the Snowfox in Subnautica: Below Zero.

The Snowfox is a bit different from the other vehicles in Subnautica: Below Zero because it is used to move faster across arctic terrain. The Snowfox can only be used on land, not in the water. The Snowfox is constructed using the Snowfox Hoverpad. The hoverpad also serves as a station to dock the Snowfox and replenish its health and power. The first hoverpad used to build any Snowfox can also be used to name the vehicle or choose a different color for it.

Before players can use the Snowfox to discover new areas, creatures, or even Architect Artifacts, they must assemble the blueprint for the vehicle and its hoverpad. These blueprints are assembled by finding their corresponding fragments. The fragments are all located on land near the same general area: The Phi Robotics Center. The Phi Robotics Center is an Alterra Base inside a cave in the Glacial Basin. The base is the starting point on the journey toward the Snowfox.

Subnautica: Below Zero: How to Build The Snowfox

First, players must locate the Glacial Basin to start searching for fragments. The Glacial Basin is situated toward the southwest/west direction of the map, right in between the SW and W on the compass. Players must head straight in this direction until jellyfish appear nearby a glacial wall. These jellyfish signify the beginning of the Arctic Region in Subnautica: Below Zero. Follow the southwestern/western trajectory, passing a large underwater cable, to find a landbridge in the canyon directly ahead. Take the landbridge onto the land above.

Once players have reached land, they must head toward the left side of the canyon, using geysers to keep warm in the chilling weather of Planet 4546B. Head left at the next canyon junction to find a corridor with Fevered Pepper Trees. Keep following this tunnel into the open clearing at the end. The Phi Robotics Center is located straight ahead, up a few sets of stairs. Enter the Phi Robotics Center and head directly right at the entrance to find the Snowfox Hoverpad fragment.

Next, head into the structure toward the left of the room to find one fragment for the Snowfox itself. The last two fragments are spawned randomly outside of the Phi Robotics Center. Head outside the center and head southeast to find the fragments along the frozen river. They should be located not too far away from each other. After assembling the blueprints for the Snowfox Hoverpad, players can build the hoverpad using the habitat builder. Connect a solar panel to the hoverpad and use its menu to build the Snowfox in Subnautica: Below Zero!

Subnautica: Below Zero is available on Mac, PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
