How to Upgrade Attributes in Cyberpunk 2077 (The Fast Way)

Cyberpunk 2077, much like other RPGs, has attributes that affect a character’s effectiveness at certain tasks. Here the five attributes are Body, Reflex, Intelligence, Technical Ability, and Cool. Each attribute affects the player’s abilities to achieve or fail the challenges throughout gameplay.

Starting off, each of these attributes has a minimum of three points invested in them. The player is given seven points to invest at the beginning of the game, bringing any of the attributes up to a six. This allows players to boost two of their attributes up to a six at the beginning. Afterward, players will have to rely on leveling up.

The Five Attributes of Cyberpunk 2077 and How to Upgrade Them

Each of the five attributes has specific effects on the player’s abilities. Body controls V’s health, stamina, and damage dealt with melee weapons (including fists.) Intelligence deals with how quickly V regains RAM, and their chances of successfully completing hacks. Reflex controls V’s critical chance, movement speed, and damage dealt with the Mantis Blades cyberware upgrade. Technical Ability affects what things V can craft, their ability to unlock doors, and damage against mechanical enemies. Cool controls V’s critical damage, ability to pass speech checks, and stealth.

Much like in other RPGs, each of these attributes has an associated skill tree that is broken down into two or three categories. Body is broken down into Athletics, Annihilation, and Street Brawler. Intelligence is broken into two branches: Breach Protocol and Quick Hacking. Reflex has three branches Assault, Blades, and Handguns. Technical Ability has two branches of Crafting and Engineering. Lastly, Cool is broken down into Cold Blood and Stealth.

Each time V levels up, they’ll either get an attribute, perk point, or a combination of the two. An attribute point is dumped into Body, Reflex, Intelligence, Technical Ability, or Cool and affects its level. It also affects the percentages within abilities related to that attribute and what perks players can unlock. Attributes max out at 10 points. Perks are similar to skills that can be invested in within the smaller sub-sect branches of each attribute. Perks tend to come in three layers, so after purchasing the perk initially, the player can invest more into it to increase those skills percentages. Depending on the branch that a player is looking into they can also unlock a new perk to purchase through a separate purchase.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Google Stadia.
