iPhone 13 & 13 Pro Colors: Every Style You Can Buy

The iPhone 13 looks a lot like its iPhone 12 predecessor, but thanks to some fresh new colors, Apple‘s made it easy to spot the new model from previous ones. As a complete package, the iPhone 13 series is a fairly minor upgrade over the iPhone 12 handsets that came before it. There’s a new A15 Bionic processor, smaller notches, improved cameras, and 120Hz refresh rates for the Pro models. The iPhone 13 isn’t a must-have upgrade for someone who bought an iPhone 12 last year, but there is a lot to like for anyone with an iPhone 11, XS, or older.

Whenever a new iPhone comes out, it’s always interesting to see which colors Apple’s chosen for its latest generation. The iPhone 12 and 12 mini are some of the most colorful iPhones ever — available in blue, green, red, purple, black, and white. The iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max were a bit more modest, coming in graphite, silver, gold, and pacific blue colorways. Following a year with some of the best iPhone colors ever, how does the color palette for the iPhone 13 stack up?

In short, pretty good! Like the iPhone 12 and 11 families, there are different colors for the regular and Pro models. People looking to buy the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 mini get to choose from all of the following: midnight, starlight, pink, blue, and (PRODUCT) RED. When it comes to the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, available colors include graphite, silver, gold, and sierra blue. There’s no price difference between any of the colors either. Regardless of the color chosen for the iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 mini, shoppers will pay $799 or $699, respectively. The iPhone 13 Pro is available starting at $999, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max goes for $1099.

How To Choose The Best iPhone 13 Color

Let’s start with the iPhone 13 and 13 mini. When choosing to buy one of Apple’s non-Pro iPhones, midnight and starlight stand out as the two easiest recommendations. They’re neutral, inoffensive, and do a good job of fading into the background. midnight is virtually identical to the black color used on the iPhone 12, while starlight sits in for white this year (though it has a slightly off-white tone to it). From there, the new pink color will likely be a popular choice for a lot of people. It’s the first pink iPhone Apple’s ever released and it has a very pleasing soft hue. It’s warm, welcoming, and a fun new addition many folks have been waiting patiently for. The blue iPhone 13 also looks great, featuring a slightly brighter appearance than last generation’s blue. On the flip side, this year’s (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 13 is darker than the (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 12.

Switching gears to look at the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, fans of neutral colors will want to hone in on the graphite and silver styles. Graphite is a pleasing gray color that doesn’t draw too much attention to itself. It’s basic, expected, and allows the iPhone 13 Pro to fade into the background. Silver falls into that same category, though the bright white back and silver frame add some extra pop without overdoing it. If that’s not enough color, gold is always a safe bet. Some shoppers may find it a bit gaudy, but others will be drawn to it immediately. Above all of that, however, there’s sierra blue. Sierra blue is the flagship iPhone 13 Pro color and — simply put — it’s stunning. It’s a pale baby blue that’s soft, engaging, and more visually interesting than last year’s pacific blue.

Overall, Apple’s colors for the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro lineups are very good. It’s disappointing that green and purple from the iPhone 12 didn’t make the cut, though it’s always possible another color will be added later in 2022. Until then, this is the lineup to work with. Pre-orders for the iPhone 13 series begin on Friday, September 17 — followed by regular sales on September 24.
