Ironheart Art Proves Why Her Armor is Cooler Than Iron Man’s

Marvel has several armored heroes wearing all kinds of different advanced suits, but few are better looking than Ironheart’s Model 3 armor. In a new piece of art from artist Jahnoy Lindsay celebrating Black History Month, RiRi Williams shows that her armor is even cooler than Iron Man’s. The image shows Ironheart mid-transformation, as the young hero activates the bracer on her arm to quickly suit up in her stunning armor.

RiRi Williams is a relatively new character in the pages of Marvel Comics, first appearing in Invincible Iron Man #7 by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato Jr. A gifted but troubled youngster, Williams would create her own Iron Man-esque armor by repurposing one of Tony Stark’s suits and stealing parts from her MIT campus. RiRi Williams would take on the mantle of Ironheart, where she’d become one of Marvel’s Champions alongside Amadeus Cho, Viv Vision, and Miles Morales. Ironheart is set to make her live-action debut in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film in the MCU, where she’ll be played by Dominique Thorne. She will also star in her own Disney+ series from writer Chinaka Hodge.

Much like Iron Man, Ironheart has developed multiple armors that are upgrades over previous versions. Currently, she sports her Model 3 armor, which she developed as a more sleek version of her Model 2 suit. The armor features many upgrades, including better A.I., a new faceplate, and perhaps the coolest feature, a bracer allowing her to store her suit on her wrist. In a stunning piece of art celebrating Black History Month from artist Jahnoy Lindsay (She-Hulk), Ironheart’s armor can be seen mid-transformation as her suit comes from her bracer.

Ironheart’s Model 3 armor is a perfect superhero suit for the character as it’s colorful, looks great, and has some incredibly impressive technological features. Compared to Iron Man’s armor, Ironheart’s armor has so much more personality and looks cooler – especially in the incredible piece of art for Jahnoy Lindsay. That’s no knock on Tony Stark’s armors, but Ironheart’s Model 3 armor (created by Jim Zub & Stefano Caselli) is just a perfect design.

While she’s set to appear in live-action soon, it would be great for Marvel Comics to give Ironheart her own ongoing comic again. RiRi Williams is too cool of a character (as the stunning art proves) not to have her own adventures, and with her soon-to-be rising popularity, it would make sense to reintroduce Ironheart to Marvel readers.
