Now that he is no longer filming for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, fans are fearing that Ronnie Ortiz Magro is going broke. In May, Ronnie announced he would be stepping away from filming for the show. Now, a month later, fans are speculating that Ronnie is ultimately hurting financially from this decision. Prior to his recent departure, Ronnie would receive a heft paycheck for staring on the show.
Ronnie’s decision to no longer film for the show that once gave him his rise to fame came nearly a month after his latest arrest. Ronnie was arrested in April for domestic violence allegations. Following his arrest, Jersey Shore fans were pleading with MTV to remove Ronnie from the hit show. As the drama began to simmer down between he and his now fiancè Saffire Matos, Ronnie made the announcement that he’d be stepping away from filming as he planned to focus his attention on seeking help for his mental health battle.
Although Ronnie is still being featured on the current season of the show, he will not be filming any new episodes alongside his former roomies. Not filming means that Ronnie will no longer be receiving his assumably hefty paycheck for the show, which ultimately brought in a majority of his income every year. Now, without it, fans are fearing that Ronnie may be going broke. Recently, Ronnie has been posting numerous clickbait articles on social media. While some of his former co-stars have found themselves guilty of this in the past as well, Ronnie typically steered away from receiving extra money this way. Now, he is posting clickbait articles almost every day.
On Reddit, fans joked that Ronnie can no longer afford his legal fees, which ultimately forces him to use clickbait articles as a source of income. Within the past few weeks, Ronnie has posted numerous clickbait articles to his social media pages. Just hours after announcing his engagement, Ronnie used a photo from when he proposed to Saffire to promote a clickbait article. Just a few days later, he tricked fans into believing he and Saffire were expecting a child together with yet another fake article. Most recently, he made it seem that he and Saffire had already broken up. The commenting ability on these posts are typically turned off. Many of the past fake posts have also been deleted.
Unlike a majority of the other Jersey Shore stars, Ronnie does not have any major side hustles that effectively contributes to his livelihood. Without the show, Ronnie needs to have some type of income to not only provide for his daughter but to also pay off Saffire’s massive engagement ring. It is unknown if Ronnie’s leave from the show is temporary or permanent; however, many have speculated that he was actually quietly fired by MTV.
