Kanye West Samples Kim Kardashian’s SNL Monologue At Donda 2 Event

There were no signs of Kim Kardashian attending the Donda 2 listening event, but Kanye West did use part of The Kardashians star’s Saturday Night Live monologue for his newest album. Back in October, Kim made her sketch comedy debut on Saturday Night Live praising the rapper for his talents but poking fun at their pending divorce. Kanye, upset with his estranged wife’s jokes, fired back against Saturday Night Live, and the beef has continued as tensions brew with Kim’s new beau and SNL star Pete Davidson.

As Pete grows closer to the Kardashian clan, Kanye continues to flood Instagram with shots against the Saturday Night Live comedian. The rapper apologized for his previous social media tirade against Kim, but that hasn’t stopped Kanye from calling out her boyfriend. Most recently, Kanye sought payback against Pete for an old Saturday Night Live skit where he joked about the rapper’s mental health. This isn’t the first time an SNL skit has upset Kanye. He revealed in a November 2021 Drink Champs interview that he was livid with Kim’s appearance on the show. In one portion of her monologue, Kim joked the rapper’s personality was the reason for their divorce. Kanye responded in the interview saying that SNL forced his ex to say that they were divorced for a joke, even though they hadn’t even filed papers yet.

But the Chicago native made sure to leave the shade out of the Saturday Night Live sample he used during his Donda 2 performance. According to Us Weekly, part of Kim’s monologue appears on the track “Sci Fi,” which debuted in Miami at the listening event. “I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America,” Kim says in the sampled monologue from last October. “A talented, legit genius, who gave me four incredible kids.” The sample cuts before Kim’s jokes about their divorce and Kanye’s personality.

The Kardashians star filed for divorce in February 2021, but Kim still supported the previous release of Donda, the 1st iteration of her ex’s newest album, by attending all of the listening events. Kim was reportedly not present for Donda 2’s debut at LoneDepot Park stadium in Florida, but the event was still star-studded with appearances from Migos, Da Baby, Alicia Keys, Playboi Carti, Jack Harlow, Marilyn Manson, and more. After the show, Donda 2 is now only available to those who purchase Kanye’s Stem Player retailing for over $200 apiece.

One thing about Kanye is that “Kanye loves Kanye,” so it’s not surprising the artist took the opportunity to use Kim praising him on his new album. It also seems like another subtle jab at Pete Davidson, letting “Skete” know that he will never amount to the icon status even Kim has admitted Kanye has reached. Anyone who dates Kim is going to have a hard time filling the footsteps of the “richest Black man in America” and the father of her children. Kim’s preparations for the Saturday Night Live monologue featured on Kanye’s newest album are set to be highlighted on the family’s new Hulu show The Kardashians.
