Knives Out 2 Website Lets You Solve Puzzles For Glass Onion Clips

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery‘s interactive website invites fans to solve a series of puzzles and rewards them with clips from the sequel. Written and directed again by Rian Johnson, the upcoming whodunit sees Daniel Craig’s Southern-fried sleuth, Benoit Blanc, returning to solve an entirely new mystery. This time, the eccentric detective is called upon to investigate a murder on a private Greek island where tech billionaire Miles Bron is hosting a getaway.

Knives Out 2 has assembled an equally impressive all-star cast alongside Craig which includes Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista. However, the upcoming sequel will break from the first film and release exclusively on Netflix this fall. Knives Out 2‘s marketing campaign kicked off in earnest last month with multiple looks at the sequel and that continued with the first Glass Onion trailer which debuted a day ago.

Now, Knives Out 2 is continuing its marketing campaign in a creative way. On the new Knives Out Mystery website, an interactive game invites users to solve a series of puzzles for clues about the sequel’s mystery in the form of clips. The official Knives Out Twitter shared the link to the website. Check out the post below:

The website’s overall presentation is based on the boxes the partygoers were given in the recently released Knives Out 2 trailer. After users begin the game, the box opens to reveal the first mystery, a slide puzzle. The goal of the game is to rearrange the pieces to create the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery logo. After successfully solving the puzzle, the website rewards the user with a short Glass Onion clip featuring Craig’s Benoit Blanc. However, before moving on to the next puzzle, users must wait until September 24, with each stage seemingly unlocking at different times leading up to the film’s release on December 23.

Considering what was revealed in the Glass Onion trailer and the tweet announcing the interactive website, it can be deduced what the game will include over the coming months. Several shots reveal an abacus and a board with two sides of sliding pegs, urging users to “put the pieces together.” No matter what comes next, it’s certainly a creative attempt by Knives Out‘s marketing campaign to tease how important puzzles are to Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and get audiences thinking like Benoit Blanc, a master sleuth, as they await for the sequel’s release.
