Let The Right One In Trailer Teases Vampire Virus & Cure

A trailer for the upcoming Showtime series Let The Right One In teases a vampiric virus, and a possible cure. Let The Right One In was initially a Swedish novel written by John Ajvide Lindqvist, which was adapted into a Swedish film in 2008. The film adaptation received international critical acclaim, winning the Saturn Award for Best International Film in 2009. In 2010, an American remake of the film was made called Let Me In starring Chloë Grace Moretz.

In a newly released Showtime trailer for the upcoming series posted to YouTube, Mark (Demián Bichir) must try and save his daughter Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez), who was turned into a vampire 10 years ago. Fighting to save his daughter’s life, while also needing to keep her alive with human blood, Mark sets out on a journey to try and discover a cure for the vampire virus that forever changed their lives. Check out the trailer below:

Whereas previous adaptations of Let The Right One In follow Eleanor’s human friend, a little boy who is severely bullied in school, this iteration seems to focus more on vampirism. Another new aspect to the franchise is the series looking at vampirism as a physical illness, which could potentially have a cure. Though Let The Right One In has been adapted for the screen several times before, the upcoming TV adaptation looks to be bringing something brand-new to the story.

Let The Right One Inpremieres on Showtime on October 7, 2022.
