Loki Director Debunks WandaVision Finale Sync Theory

Some eagle-eyed fans took the liberty of playing the Loki finale episode in sync with WandaVision’s finale and noticed that the moment in which He Who Remains discovers the branching timeline is in sync with the point at which Wanda tricks Agatha Harkness and transforms into the Scarlet Witch. Following this discovery, fans were swift to proclaim that it was the massive spike in Wanda’s powers that impacted the Sacred Timeline and scared He Who Remains. Apparently, that’s not the case.

During her recent appearance on the SUPES YouTube channel, Loki director Kate Herron dissected this fan theory. She shot it down and clarified that at the time when WandaVision was airing on Disney+, Loki had already entered post-production. This confirms that the “connection” was not pre-planned and is nothing more than a mere coincidence.

It was definitely coincidental on our side. We were in post [production] basically when WandaVision went on television, so I think it is probably coincidental. I wouldn’t want to shut down any theories though, it’s kind of fun.

While the fan theory ended up being incorrect, Wanda is very much capable of sending the already imbalanced Sacred Timeline spiraling out of control. WandaVision ended with Wanda pouring through the Darkhold in her Astral form and hearing the voice of her twins, Tommy and Billy. As she thought that she had lost them forever when she lifted the Hex, it is obvious that her next step would be to tear the multiverse apart to look for them and probably unleash further chaos in the process.

Whether she appears as an unhinged villain in Doctor Strange 2 or not, she can still prove to be a formidable enemy for Majors’ Kang the Conqueror. In the WandaVision finale, Agatha warns Wanda that she has “no idea what [she’s] unleashed.” If what she “unleashed” was not pushing the Sacred Timeline out of balance, it is probably what Wanda has become as the Scarlet Witch. And as she was more than a match for Thanos on her own before she gained her new powers, it is safe to predict that she could even beat Kang after his threats in Loki
