Marvel’s Newest Hero’s Armor Puts Iron Man’s Suitcase Suit To Shame

Warning! Spoilers for Darkhawk #3 by Marvel Comics

Tony Stark has created some amazing Iron Man armors over the years that allow him to spring immediately into battle when the time calls for it, such as his suitcase armor. However, Marvel’s new Darkhawk can summon his armor even faster than the longtime Avenger, as his connection to the Raptor Amulet allows him to suit up in a more advanced armor in a flash.

Iron Man’s collection of armor is incredibly impressive, as he’s used his vast resources and knowledge to create hundreds of different suits for himself and his allies. Among Tony Stark’s creations include an armor that bonded inside his skin, a suit made of liquid metal that bonded with him like a symbiote, and an armor that comes from a suitcase and attaches itself to his body – the latter of which was seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Iron Man 2 during his battle against Whiplash. However, one armor that Tony Stark would have difficulty recreating is the suit worn by another hero, Darkhawk.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Marvel’s new Darkhawk is Connor Young, a 17-year-old basketball star whose career was sidelined after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. However, Young discovered the Raptor Amulet, which transformed him into the armored hero, Darkhawk. With his new superpowered armor, Young is still trying to learn the ropes as a hero and figure out what he’s capable of. But, one thing is for sure, his Darkhawk armor would make Iron Man jealous. In a new preview for Darkhawk #3 by Kyle Higgins, Juanan Ramirez, Erick Arciniega, and VC’s Travis Lanham, Connor is looking for his missing friend Derek as he juggles the responsibilities of his new armor and powers.

Back at home, Connor admits he isn’t sure what to do as he records a video for Derek. He recalls finding the Raptor Amulet after a comet crashed on Earth. Connor says he has no idea what kind of hero he’s supposed to be and doesn’t fully understand the transformation process.

The Darkhawk armor is an impressive piece of alien technology. But, unbeknownst to Connor, when he summons it, his body is teleported to Null Space (hence why he feel shorter in it). Right now, Marvel’s new Darkhawk knows how to call his armor, and that’s about it. It will take time for him to learn how to use it and its immense powers. Darkhawk can summon a more advanced and powerful armor than Iron Man’s suitcase armor with his new amulet, but he’ll need to learn more about it before he’s got any advantage on Tony Stark. Darkhawk #3 is in comic book stores on Wednesday.
