Narcos: Mexico – Every Episode In Season 2, Ranked (According To IMDb)

Another hit Netflix crime drama, Narcos: Mexico, is a very classy show, which involves a lot of violence, but because the protagonist (Felix Gallardo) believes in resolving problems without using guns, it is less graphic than its predecessor, Narcos.

The opening season of the show is as good as the writers could have imagined it to be, with the stakes very high for the second season. One of DEA’s own, Kiki Camarena has been murdered brutally, and the officials will not stop until they get the head of Felix.

10 “Alea Lacta Est” (7.9)

In the second episode of season 2, Felix’s plan against The Colombian Cartels is officially in motion, as he makes his way to meet Don Guerra, who usually deals in Opium and will be open to negotiating his terms with Felix. Also, The DEA isn’t liking what they are getting from Verdin. Because Verdin is a trained animal, who can surely take the beating and the torture. He is not giving a single bit of information and the officers are getting frustrated.

9 “El Dedazo” (7.9)

In the sixth episode of Narcos‘ season 2, almost every character has a big decision to make. Walt and his team haven’t given up on their plan to avenge Kiki’s death and it seems they have come up with something, which would lead them a step closer to Felix. As the rivalry between two Plazas, namely Tijuana and Sinaloa, intensifies, Benjamin is told to make a concrete decision, while Felix meets a political leader to discuss something important.

8 “Ruben Zuno Arce” (8.0)

In the third episode of season 2 of Narcos: Mexico, the show focuses upon another Plaza boss, which is something this season seems intent on doing. It’s Acosta, who has a long-standing family feud and Amado helps him, because he needs to, or else Felix wouldn’t be happy with the way they are monitoring their Plaza. Also, Felix has other big problems to take care of, as the DEA seems to be closing in on the people who murdered Kiki Camarena.

7 “The Big Dog” (8.0)

In the fourth episode of season 2, the DEA lose their only plan, after Zuno turns back on his statement. At first, he was ready to give up both Don Neto and Felix but in front of The Grand Jury, he retracted on his words, putting an official end to Operation Leyenda.

This does not go down well with the officers, who were working the case but it only goes on to show the efficiency with which Felix works. He made an offer no one could refuse.

6 “Truth And Reconciliation” (8.1)

In the seventh episode of season 2, the tensions between the Plazas are highlighted almost perfectly. Palma, the head of the Juarez Plaza, wants to attempt a coup against Felix but what he doesn’t know is that Felix has eyes and ear everywhere. Palma just about escapes with his life, thanks to his wife. Moreover, Walt has been promised some intel on Felix and so he has made his way to a place, where he wouldn’t necessarily have planned to go.

5 “Salva El Tigre” (8.3)

In the first episode of season 2, it’s been several months since the arrest of Don Neto and it seems Felix Gallardo has become used to life, as the biggest drug trafficker in Mexico. He is celebrating his 40th birthday and he has invited all the Plaza Bosses to his house. But there are some fights penetrating internally within the cartel and there seem to be some problems with the cocaine business as well. Also, the DEA have begun their mission.

4 “AFO” (8.5)

In the fifth episode of season 2, Felix learns the harsh truths about The Colombian Cartel because it turns out, they have always been one step ahead of him.

In simple words, Felix’s planned meeting with Pacho turns out to be a nightmare for him, while the Plazas continue their feud. Chapo is continuing the construction of his tunnel and if words got out about the same, the Mexican cartel might just fall apart. Also, Walt has met Calderoni and it seems he hasn’t given up yet.

3 “Se Cayó El Sistema” (8.7)

In the eighth episode of season 2, the presidential election has begun, which means, the stakes have gotten a lot higher for Felix. Because winning the election will go a long way for Felix to implement his master plan. Also, after a newspaper publishes an interview with him, Acosta is on the run because he is being sought out by The FBI and the Mexican authorities. Felix needs to get to him first.

2 “Growth Prosperity And Liberation” (8.9)

The penultimate episode of season 2 clears all the chaos and gives the fans only one thing to care about. It’s The DEA vs Narcos character Felix Gallardo and there might be a conclusion that could see the Mexican drug cartel fall entirely off the hook. It will not be easy to beat Felix, though, because he has shown what he is capable of. He has, literally, bet all of his empire on the delivery of a pack of cocaine.

1 “Free Trade” (9.1)

In the season 2 finale is an absolute treat. The tense moments are there for all to see and it felt like the show held back the best for the last. Felix is not giving up easily and he is not going anywhere. He has more plans to conjure up, more money to make, and above all, he has the plan of being at the helm of it all. Elsewhere, Walt has received a surprising yet tempting invitation. The episode is a great watch and completely captures the Narcos vibe.
