In the Naruto and Boruto universe, the Hokage represents the pinnacle of excellence. The person holding the position not only has extensive influence over the life of the village but is also considered its best ninja. Sasuke Uchiha, who already believed himself to be the best ninja, wished to be Hokage to influence its future arc. He failed, in large part due to Naruto’s opposition. However, Sasuke’s daughter Sarada, who also wants to be Hokage, has a better chance to achieve what her father failed to do.
For most of the Naruto saga, Sasuke had no interest in becoming the Hokage. Unlike Naruto, his interests were more personal, namely getting revenge on his brother Itachi for slaughtering their family. Moreover, once he confronted his brother and was able to learn the truth that Itachi had acted as he did for the greater good of the village, Sasuke lost all connection with the village, deciding rather to destroy Konoha for what it made his brother do. Ultimately, Sasuke has a change of heart. Rather than destroy the village, he decides to try and become its Hokage. As Hokage, he avows to use his influence to “destroy and remake” the village, by taking on all its responsibilities and powers himself. However, Naruto not only stops him from achieving his goals but also assumes the position of Hokage himself.
Fast forward several years and readers meet Sasuke’s daughter, Sarada. Like Naruto, since she was a child she has made it her life’s goal to be Hokage. Based on her circumstances there is every reason to believe she will realize her dreams. While it is not yet clear what she would do as Hokage, based on her past attitude and actions, the assumption is that, unlike her father, she’d use the position to better the village.
First, there is her early determination to be Hokage. While Naruto had a similar early desire, Sarada is in a much better position to succeed than he ever was. As the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura, she is a member of a leading village family. Additionally, through her family connections, she has a close relationship with Naruto, who genuinely is interested in her well-being and progress.
Second, there are her abilities. As the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura, she has been blessed with a cache of inherent abilities. She has inherited her mother’s abilities to control chakra, allowing her to channel her energy on demand. She also seems to have developed some of her mother’s medical ninjutsu abilities. From her father, she inherited the Uchiha family’s kekkei genkai – Sharingan, which allows her to see others’ chakra energy as well as copy nearly any ability she sees. Given her strength and tactical abilities, she’s already ahead of where her mother and father were at her age.
Lastly, Sarada has shown signs of the leadership capabilities required to be a Hokage. Indeed, her command of Team 7 during their fight against Inner Kara is exemplary. Simply put Sarada has the personality, position, mindset, abilities, and backing to be a Hokage, something her father Sasuke aspired to but never obtained. From the looks of it, there is the potential to be the best Hokage ever in the Naruto and Boruto universe.
