Phineas And Ferb: The 10 Catchiest Songs In The Entire Series

Phineas and Ferb had the best summer vacation ever. For one, it never seemed to end. For another, the brothers found really good ways to spend it. Every day brought with it unprecedented levels of vacation adventure and fun for two ordinary brothers. The trapezium-shaped head boy and his cuboid-shaped head brother have gone back to the Mesozoic era, visited foreign planets, and put one of the most legendary bands, Love Händel, back together for one epic reunion.

After seven years, Phineas and Ferb’s 104 days of summer vacation would, sadly, finally end. By then, the show would have worked its way into the hearts of Disney audiences thanks to its heartfelt stories, funny characters, and absolutely anthemic musical numbers.

10 I Ain’t Got Rhythm

To plan a great anniversary surprise for their mom, Phineas and Ferb decide to put the band back together. Love Händel was the first song their parents kissed to, sealing a romance that would eventually lead to their marriage. Swampy, named after one of the show’s co-creators, is the ex-drummer for the band. He now works in a library after he lost his rhythm by falling asleep in a metronome factory.

What Swampy, real name of Sherman, doesn’t realize is that his sense of rhythm is innate. He unconsciously makes beats just by stamping returned books to the building. So, the boys make him see that he is still a great drummer. As a result, history is created with the incredibly rhythmic song, “I Ain’t Got Rhythm.”

9 Us Against The Universe

“Us Against The Universe” is from Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Candace Against The Universe. It is a very poignant song where Candace learns that she does not have to keep busting her brothers. The teenaged older sister of the boys, Candace learns that her brothers actually have her back, and she doesn’t have to stand alone in the universe.

She has her friends, her family, and her community always with her to go through anything she faces in life. The heartwarming song shows a softer, more relaxed and trusting side to the forever-busting, angry, agitated, and frustrated Candace.

8 S.I.M.P. (Squirrels In My Pants)

Jeremy’s evil younger size, Suzy, hates Candace because she steals the toddler’s brother’s attention. To punish Candace, she croquet’s a hazelnut into Candace’s jeans in full view of some hungry squirrels. The squirrels jump into Candace’s jeans, rooting around for the nut. Candace twists around, trying to get the squirrels out, which, unwittingly, makes her appear to be break dancing. She coincidentally jumps into some beatboxers practicing their lyrical skills, and the rap classic “Squirrels In My Pants” is born.

The song’s lyrics are nonsensical, including lyrics such as, “how can I qualify for government grants?” and “got an aunt Florence livin’ in France.”

7 Gitchee Gitchee Goo

The popularity of Phineas and Ferb songs lies in their variety. That is, different songs borrow from different music genres to get a message across. From rap to rock to contemporary to jazz, the show has a song for every type of music lover.

Gitchee Gitchee Goo, for example, is a Motown classic, borrowing from the likes of Diana Ross and The Supremes and songs such as “He’s My Sunny Boy.” Backed by Isabella and The Ferbettes, Phineas performs “Gitchee Gitchee Goo” in perfect Motown harmony, featuring lyrics like,:

Bow chicka bow wow. That’s what my baby says!

Mow, mow, mow. and my heart starts pumping.

Chicka chicka choo wow. Never gonna stop.

Gitchee Gitchee Goo means that I love you.

6 Come Home Perry

In her manic efforts to bust her brothers, Candace thinks that she accidentally let Perry out of the house. The family believes that Perry ran away from home. In reality, Perry has to move to a new family in another tri-state area because he has been given a new villain. The brothers decide to broadcast a song in the area to get Perry to come home, and, thus, they write “Come Home Perry,” a wonderfully sentimental song about a family’s love for their pet, blue-green house-broken, and secret agent spy.

5 Busted

“Busted” is an RnB jam by Candace and Vanessa. The song copies the 90s RnB style of female singers such as Destiny’s Child and Ashanti. Visually, the video shares thematic similarities with Brandy and Monica’s “Boy Is Mine” video.

It was inevitable that a song about Candace busting her brothers would be made since the poor girl spends her entire vacation plotting on her brothers. At the same time as Candace is trying to bust her brothers, Vanessa is trying to bust her dad, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, because her mother does not believe that he is an evil scientist.

4 A-G-L-E-T

What is the word for the tip of a shoelace? When the family is unable to find out the answer, Phineas decides to spread the word. His vision is for the whole world to know what an aglet it. The plot thickens when he decides to hold “Phineas and Ferb’s Aglet Aid,” a concert event that takes place in the tri-state area broadcast to other concert stadiums worldwide. Soon after, the whole world knows what an aglet is, and Candace is defeated once more. In this episode, the boys manage to change her mind, and she joins the concert.

Unfortunately, Doofenshmirtz uses his Read My Mindinator to delete the word from the brains of everyone in the world. Only Candace remembers aglet at the end of the episode.

3 E.V.I.L. Boys

Those boys are always up to something

And it’s bringing me to tears

Cause just before you get home

It all just magically disappears

Those boys are evil!

But before you get home, they somehow always clean up the mess!

In the great gospel/blues classic “E.V.I.L Boys,” Candace laments about how hard her life is. She testifies on the mic, letting out her anger about all the close calls when their mom almost caught Phineas and Ferb, but, somehow everything magically disappeared at the right second. Of course, everything always magically disappears because of whatever evil-inator Doofenshmirtz built that day.

2 Gimme A Grade

Baljeet just does not know how to rock. The grade-obsessed overachiever accidentally signed up for a rock and roll summer school “Summer Rocks,” thinking it to be a geology class. Unable to rock, Baljeet is terrified that he will fail. He tries to pass the class through studying and logic, so the brothers try to teach him what rock and roll music is about. Still not getting it, Baljeet arrives at the ‘Summer Rocks Concert’ with his band, The Baljeetles. When he learns that the class does not give out grades, Baljeet finds his inner rock and roll and protests on stage through his music.

Oh yeah! I have got something to say!

I have been burned by vague lesson plans and a free-floating curriculum!

I like my rules, baby, etched in stone, cos you know I am going to stick to them!

1 My Nemesis

Dr. Doofenshmirtz is the funniest character on the show. An evil scientist with a tragic childhood, Doofenshmirtz creates silly-inator devices to take over the tri-state area and, sometimes, the world. Despite his intelligence and his unhealthy obsession with evil, he is a humble man and a loving father. In a classic episode, Perry catches Doofenshmirtz cheating on him with a new secret agent animal, Peter the Panda.

Doofenshmirtz and Peter met at an evil genius expo in Seattle. He and Peter just instantly disliked each other after Peter foiled a little evil scheme of his. Heinz didn’t plan it that way, however, it “just happened.” Later on, the evil doctor would miss his long-term nemesis, realizing that the dislike he felt for Peter was fickle, but what he shares with Perry is forever.
