Pokémon BDSP: How To Evolve Nosepass Into Probopass

Nosepass was given a new evolution in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl with Probopass. When the fourth generation was released back on the Nintendo DS, much older Pokémon from previous generations were given new forms. This includes the likes of Yanma, Duskclops, Eevee, and many more. While most of the Pokémon in the series evolve from leveling up, a handful have unique evolutionary methods. For example, players looking to evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine will need to teach it the move ‘Ancient Power’ and then level it up. Not only that, but Pokémon like Duskclops will only evolve when they are holding a Reaper Cloth. That item is incredibly rare in the Sinnoh region and finding all of these new evolutions is one of the most difficult things to accomplish in this generation. Nosepass, a Pokémon that originates from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, was given a new evolution with Probopass, and obtaining it requires players to think outside of the box.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

For starters, players will need to find and catch a Nosepass first. To do this, trainers will need to complete the main story and unlock access to the postgame. This means defeating the Elite Four, becoming Champion of the Sinnoh region, and getting the National Dex. When this happens, big changes will begin to happen in the region, including new types of Pokémon appearing in both the overworld and in the Grand Underground.

Nosepass will begin to appear in Swarm Pokémon battles, a feature that unlocks after beating the game. After speaking with Dawn in Sandgem Town, players will notice when they pause the game, it will mention a swarm of Pokémon is happening at a certain route. Players can then head to this location to find them spawning in the overworld. To get Nosepass, it will appear in a swarm on Route 206. The swarm Pokémon locations change every day, meaning that players will need to wait until Nosspass makes an appearance. It’s also not possible to change the time within the Nintendo Switch without getting a time penalty in-game.

Evolving Nosepass Into Probopass in Pokémon BDSP

After collecting a Nosepass, all the player has to do is bring it to a location with a magnetic field. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl don’t exactly make it clear what this means. Since Probopass is the Compass Pokémon, having a strong magnetic field is part of its identity, and the place to do this will be inside Mount Coronet.

This location is littered with metals and rocks, making it the most magnetic location in the Sinnoh region. Fortunately, there are several entrances to Mount Coronet around the region. Players can find it by bringing up the Town Map. This location opens up fairly early in the game, but players still need to wait until the postgame to get Nosepass, unless they trade with a friend. Just pick one entrance and battle wild Pokémon until Nosepass levels up. Although, players can also use a Rare Candy to instantly level it up. Do this and Nosepass will evolve into Probopass.
