Pokémon BDSP: Where To Find The Electirizer Item (& What It’s For)

The Electirizer is an evolution item introduced in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Trainers may come across items as they explore the Sinnoh region, whether for a revisit or for the first time. Several of these items can be given to Pokémon as Held Items, and each one can provide them with a special bonus inside or outside of battle. For example, trainers who give their Pokémon the Leftovers item will heal them with every passing turn. However, the Electirizer is an item that is more useful outside of battle since it can help players get closer to completing their National Dex.

The Electirizer is an evolutionary item that will evolve Electabuzz into Electivire, and the evolution will only activate once the player has traded Electabuzz holding the Electirizer to another player. Electivire was introduced back in the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, and it is essential to mention that this item is only available for players who own Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. Players who own Pokémon Shining Pearl will need to trade with another player with a Pokémon holding the Electirizer.

To get the Electirizer, players must obtain it from an Elekid in the Grand Underground. Elekid is one of the rare spawns of the Grand Underground and is only available in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond for players to catch. Elekid has a 5% chance of holding an Electirizer upon capture,  although players can also use the Thief move to steal the item from a random Elekid. In addition, it has the chance of appearing within the various Pokémon Dens in the Grand Underground in areas such as Stargleam Cavern, Whiteout Cave, and Dazzling Cave.

Finding An Electirizer in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Every time a player enters one of the Grand Underground dens, the Pokémon present inside are shuffled, which means if trainers leave the room, a new batch of Pokémon will appear. To increase the chances of running into an Elekid, decorate the Secret Base with Pokémon statues. Decorating with Electric-type statues in the Secret Base will increase the likelihood of Electric-type Pokémon spawning, including Elekid.

Once the player finds Elekid, they will need to train it up to level 30 and evolve it into Electbuzz. Trainers can now give the Electirizer to Elekid and trade it to trigger the evolution. Although, players can wait until they reach level 34 since it will teach Electabuzz the move ‘Discharge.’ It’s a mighty Electric-type move that does 120 damage and has the chance to paralyze opponents. Electivire is currently one of the best Pokémon introduced in the Sinnoh region, and it will work well on almost any team provided trainers don’t already have a powerful Electric-type in their team.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl are available now on Nintendo Switch.
