Pokémon Legends: Arceus – How To Find (& Catch) Wyrdeer

Wyrdeer is one of the new creatures introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. This game takes place in the new Hisui region, acting as the ancient past of the Sinnoh region. While this does take place in some form of the Sinnoh region, it does feature its own handful of new locations and Pokémon. A big part of this adventure is being able to go anywhere on the map using the abilities of Pokémon. As players progress through the story, they’ll unlock new mount Pokémon that will help them fly, cross the sea, and climb mountains.

One of the earliest mount Pokémon trainers will unlock is Wyrdeer. After learning its song on the Celestial Flute, the player can summon Wyrdeer in an instance. Riding it allows players to jump to higher ledges and get around the map are faster speeds. Although, the Wyrdeer is only a rental. Trainers looking to complete the Pokédex and unlock the Shiny Charm will need to get their own Wyrdeer. Since it’s a Hisui Pokémon, its evolutionary method is directly tied to a new gameplay mechanic introduced in this title.

To get a Wyrdeer, the player will need to capture a Stantler and evolve it into a Wyrdeer. There are no wandering Wyrdeer in the Hisui region. To evolve Stantler, it will need to use Psyshield Bash in Agile Style 20 times in battles. Psyshield Bash is a move that Stantler learns once it reaches level 21. Although, this is only the base version of the move. The more time the Pokémon has with the move, the better mastery they have over that weapon. After a while, the move will have Agile and Strong styles attached to it. Stantler will master Psyshield Bash once it reaches level 31. After using the move 20 times in Agile Style, just head into the menu and evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer.

Finding Stantler in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Trainers will need to find and capture a Stantler first. These are all of its different spawn locations in the Hisui region.

  • Obsidian Fields: Deertrack Heights
  • Cobalt Coastlands: Windbreak Stand
  • Coronet Highlands: Wayward Wood
  • Alabaster Icelands: Glacier Terrace

Wrydeer is a Psychic- and Normal-type Pokémon with black orbs on its antlers. It’s said the black orbs shine with an uncanny light when Wydeer is creating barriers. This is also the final stage of its evolutionary line. It’s currently unknown if Wyrdeer will be able to go to other Pokémon games in the future. Pokémon Home support has not been announced just yet, but players will likely have a way to document all these new Pokémon soon. Hisui is currently the only place to find Wyrdeer.
