Pokémon Sword & Shield: Every Eeveelution (& How to Get Them)

Every Eeveelution can be captured in Pokemon Sword & Shield. This guide will help players capture every Eeveelution in the game. Eevee is one of the most iconic Pokemon to exist in the series. The unique ability of this Pokemon is the ability to change into 8 different Pokemon when compared to others. When the series first began, Eevee could only evolve into 3 different Pokemon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon. As the generations went on, certain generations included new evolutions for Eevee. Fortunately, Pokemon Sword & Shield allows players to capture every Eeveelution available. Here’s how players can capture every Eeveelution in the game.

Pokemon Sword & Shield is the first mainline title in the series to not include every Pokemon in the game. With over 800 Pokemon in the series, it became difficult for developers to meet deadlines and have every Pokemon available. To reach their deadline, the developers decided to cut more than half of the available Pokemon, and fans were very upset about it. The game is receiving an upcoming DLC that will include hundreds of older Pokemon. Fan favorites like Lycanroc and Emolga make a return in the DLC. Although, while Eevee has 8 different forms, every single form can be captured in Pokemon Sword & Shield without the DLC. Here’s how players can catch them all.

Capturing Every Eeveelution in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Fortunately, players don’t have to worry about evolving Eevee at all in this game. Every Eeveelution can be found in their final forms in the wild area. Players will need to have the bike expansion that allows them to ride on the water. Head over to the Lake of Outrage in the Wild Area and different Eeveelutions will begin to spawn depending on the weather. Here’s the required weather for each.

  • Flareon: Harsh Sunlight
  • Vaporeon: Rain
  • Jolteon: Thunderstorms
  • Umbreon: Sandstorm
  • Espeon: Cloudy
  • Glaceon: Blizzard or Snow
  • Leafeon: Clear weather
  • Sylveon: Fog

Players can manipulate the weather by changing the time and date on their Nintendo Switch settings. No need to level up or focus on friendship. This can be done entirely by catching them directly.

Pokemon Sword & Shield’s upcoming DLC is fast approaching. The first part being the Isle of Armor, scheduled to release this June. The second part, the Crown Tundra, will release later this Fall. Both of these will contain new legendary Pokemon to capture and new story scenarios for the player to experience. This is a full paid DLC providing several hours of new content to get through. Also, all the older Pokemon will be released for free when the DLC arrives. Pokemon Sword & Shield is one of the biggest Pokemon titles to date.
