Red Dead Redemption 2 Player Notices Disturbingly Realistic Pig Detail

A fan of Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 has made a gruesome and realistic discovery proving that in-game pigs can eat dead bodies. The game released back in 2018, but the vast and expansive world of RDR2 still appears to hold many secrets, some of them more disturbing than others.

Red Dead Redemption 2‘s gripping and emotional story is enough to keep players absorbed in the game, but its huge interactive world can add even more hours onto the main campaign should players choose to explore every inch of the map. Red Dead Redemption 2 includes lots of collectibles to seek out, such as legendary animals, rock carvings, dreamcatchers, and dinosaur bones, which can keep trophy-hunting players busy for a long time. RDR2 also has seemingly endless Easter eggs to discover, ranging from Bigfoot’s cave to references to Bully, another Rockstar Games classic.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Players are still discovering secrets in Red Dead Redemption 2 to this day, including Redditor and RDR2 fan, Technical-Win2277. The user shared a gruesome video of their discovery, which shows that Big China Pigs in the game will feast on dead bodies if given the chance. The video, which has seen over 2000 upvotes at the time of writing, shows the player coming across a pigpen where five pigs are eating a body, complete with a surprising amount of detail in the animations, sound, and overall design.

The pig detail is one that many players have seemingly yet to discover for themselves, with lots of fans sharing their surprise on the Reddit post. Many have thought all the secrets and animations in Red Dead Redemption 2 have already been discovered, but it seems the game continues to surprise and delight – even when it comes to the more macabre findings. The game is no stranger when it comes to dark Easter eggs and features, with previous discoveries including ghosts, as well as haunting voices heard in RDR2‘s Bolger Glade.

The disturbing pig discovery isn’t so much an Easter egg as it is a testament to the realism of Red Dead Redemption 2. Real-world pigs will eat the deceased, and with Rockstar’s reputation for attention to detail, it’s perhaps not so surprising to see this included in the game. Red Dead Redemption 2 has been praised as one of the most visually impressive games in Rockstar’s catalog thanks to its incredible graphics, lighting, textures, and world design, making the title a firm favorite for video game photographers. Despite now being a last-generation release, the title still offers one of the most beautiful gaming experiences possible. Real-life photographs have been mistaken for RDR2 screenshots, demonstrating just how true-to-life the game really is. The newly-discovered pig detail is yet more evidence of the game’s realism.
