RHOBH: Kim Richards’ Daughter Brooke’s Home Raided By FBI Due To Fraud

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Kim Richards’ eldest daughter, Brooke, has her home raided by the feds in December 2021. Kim and her daughter are clearly not having it easy. Brooke is married to Thayer Wiederhorn, the son of Fatburger and Johnny Rockets franchise owner Andrew Wiederhorn.

Kim, who has joined RHOBH season 1 and left after season 5, has had a rocky road with substance abuse, followed by rehab and an embarrassing shoplifting incident, which led to her relapse. After leaving the show, Kim decided to stay out of the limelight and get her life back on track. However, in 2018, Kim showed strange behavior once again after not appearing at a court hearing, and a year later she escaped the hospital she was in for evaluation regarding her mental health. It’s fair to say her road to recovery is a tough one. Kim isn’t the only one who is having a tough time, as her eldest daughter, Brooke, is also sorting out some legal issues.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Brooke’s Los Angeles home she shares with Thayer was raided in December 2021 by the FBI for tax invasion, potential fraud and money laundering, committed by Brooke’s father-in-law, Andrew, as reported by the LA Times. The FBI took tax documents, phones and other items from her home. Aside from legal troubles in the past, Kim also reported having issues with the State of California’s Franchise Tax Board. Brooke, on the other hand, wasn’t named in the court documents and is therefore off the hook. According to an FBI agent and a filed affidavit, Andrew devised and executed a fraudulent scheme to steer clear of paying taxes, and in addition, he allegedly received millions of dollars in sham loans, thanks to his companies. Andrew’s lawyer, Douglas Fuchs, said in a statement, Mr. Wiederhorn categorically denies these allegations and at the appropriate time we will demonstrate that the government has its facts wrong. These loans were completely legitimate and were independently reviewed and approved.”

No charges were filed against either Brooke, Thayer, Andrew or any person associated with FAT Brands. Although this has been quite an intense few years for Kim and her family, she can now focus on her life, and maybe Kim will return back to RHOBH, for old time’s sake. Kim has claimed before that Andy personally asked her to come back.

Although Kim’s life was publicly torn apart while being on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she also had a few great moments with her co-stars, among all the outbursts. Returning back to the show would help Kim get her life back on track with her financial situation. It would also hopefully rebuild friendships and her relationship with her sisters, Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton.
