Bravo’s smash hit The Real Housewives Of New York City is one of the franchise’s longest-running series, with Season 13 set to premiere later this year. Since the show’s debut in 2008, RHONY has introduced fans to a variety of housewives, all with memorable personalities and many of whom have had a huge impact on the reality TV landscape.
The series never fails to cover the housewives’ relationships as the ladies tackle dating, marriage, divorce, and co-parenting. But it doesn’t draw attention to every aspect of the housewives’ lives, and many viewers aren’t aware of basic facts about the cast. From ages to their astrological signs, these details can go a long way towards explaining the dramatic conflicts and strong bonds developed on the iconic show.
10 Ramona: 64, Divorced, 5’5″, Scorpio
One of only two of RHONY‘s original housewives to be attached to the series, Ramona Singer has been a controversial presence practically since her debut. At 64, Ramona is the oldest housewife to appear on RHONY. Her rock-solid marriage to Mario was a fixture on earlier seasons, but in Season 6 they divorced and Ramona has since pursued dating in earnest.
Standing 5’5″, she’s one of the show’s shorter housewives, and can often be found wearing high pumps. Born on November 17, Ramona’s a mercurial Scorpio, which explains a lot about her sometimes conflictual relationships with her fellow housewives.
9 Sonja: 57, Divorced, 5’7″, Sagittarius
Sonja Morgan is a beloved Housewives presence with an outgoing and vivacious Sagittarius personality that famously complements her BFF Ramona’s. Born in 1963, Sonja the second-oldest current RHONY cast member.
Several years before her debut on the show in Season 3, Sonja divorced John Adams Morgan of the famous Morgan dynasty – a split whose effects Sonja has explored all the way into Season 12. At 5’7″, she’s right in the middle of the pack height-wise.
8 Luann: 55, Divorced, 5’10”,Taurus
Luann de Lesseps (A.K.A. the Countess) has been with RHONY for nearly 13 years, since Season 1. Born in 1965, Luann isn’t particularly old or young compared to her fellow housewives.
Luann’s divorce from Count Alexandre de Lesseps was covered in Season 3 of RHONY, and fans saw her remarry to Tom D’Agostino in Season 9, but the couple divorced within a year. Luann is the tallest-ever cast member on RHONY and has always demonstrated a Taurean love of all things lavish.
7 Leah: 38, Single, 5’7″, Virgo
Leah McSweeney was added to the RHONY cast for Season 12, and immediately became a fan-favorite with a candid personality and some truly wild antics. At 38, Leah is significantly younger than her current castmates and was nearly the youngest woman to appear on the show (behind Bethenny, who was 37 in Season 1). With a height of 5’7″, she stands toe-to-toe with several RHONY alums.
Leah’s classic Virgo traits like attention to detail and love for her work show up in her successful clothing brand Married To The Mob. Season 12 found Leah single but happily co-parenting her daughter Kier.
6 Eboni: 37, Single, 5’1″, Virgo
Lawyer and TV host, Eboni K. Williams will be joining the RHONY cast for Season 13, whose production was halted last month due to COVID-related concerns. At 37, Eboni is set to be the youngest current cast member and one of the youngest women ever on the show. At 5’1″, she’s also the shortest.
While there is no premiere date set for the Season 13 premiere, Leah and Eboni have already discussed how much they connected during filming, and perhaps this has to do with their shared Virgo sign. Also like Leah, Eboni is currently single.
5 Dorinda: 56, Single, 5’5″, Sagittarius
Dorinda Medley had been with RHONY for six years before her departure in 2020, and the housewife made quite a splash in her final appearance on the show in Season 12. Although she often clashed with Sonja, like that former member of the Morgan clan Dorinda is an upbeat and fiery Sagittarius. At 5’5″, she’s on the shorter side of the cast, and at 56 she skews older.
Dorinda often discussed her late husband Richard on the show, which also significantly featured her (now-concluded) relationship with John Mahdessian.
4 Tinsley: 45, Engaged, 5’7″, Leo
At 45, Tinsley Mortimer was the second-youngest cast member on Season 12 behind her friend Leah McSweeney. Much of her storyline that season covered her on-again-off-again relationship with Scott Kluth, but ahead of her mid-season departure from the show she and Scott finally became engaged.
Standing 5 feet 7 inches, Tinsley is around the same height as many of her castmates. Although she was always gentle and kind, as a Leo she did love being the center of attention.
3 Bethenny: 50, Dating, 5’5″, Scorpio
Bethenny Frankel left RHONY shortly before filming on Season 12 began, so the original housewife’s final appearance on the show was in 2019’s Season 11. Bethenny remains in the midst of divorce proceedings and a custody battle with her ex Jason Hoppy and seems to be dating Paul Bernon following a brief split in October 2020.
Like her fellow original cast member Ramona, Bethenny is a Scorpio – and it showed in her always charged and sometimes volatile relationships with other housewives. At 50, she was one of the younger cast members and at 5’5″, one of the shorter ones too.
2 Carole: 57, Single, 5’7″, Leo
One of the richest Real Housewives, Carole Radziwill left RHONY after Season 10 in 2018. The bestselling author dated chef Adam Kenworthy for much of her time on the show and although split, the couple remain friends. At 5’7″, Carole is of average height for the RHONY cast, but a little bit older than some of her castmates at 57.
Although Leos are known for their big personalities and extraversion, Carole was always one of the quieter housewives. Perhaps the rest of her birth chart could explain her understated personality.
1 Heather: 50, Married, 5’8″, Aries
Since her RHONY debut all the way back in Season 5, Heather Thomson has been beloved by fans for her generous spirit and outgoing and headstrong Aries demeanor. At 50, she was younger than several of her castmates, and taller to boot.
Heather’s happy union with her husband Jonathan Schindler was shown on each of her three seasons as a main cast member, but she often returned in later seasons as a “Friend of the Housewives.” Fans of the show can expect to see Heather resume her role as a supporting cast member in Season 13.
