RHOP: Everything To Know About New Housewife Mia Thornton

Mia Thornton is making her reality television debut on the highly anticipated upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Potomac, and we have everything fans need to know about the freshman housewife before her introduction this July. According to the new season six RHOP trailer, the returning housewives – Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Karen Huger, Candiace Dillard, and Wendy Osefo – will have their Bravo careers rocked by Mia’s debut. From her background to co-star Karen’s reasoning for identifying Mia as a “boss,” here’s everything to know about Potomac’s newest reality-star-in-the-making Mia Thornton.

Mia Thornton is entering The Real Housewives of Potomac following Monique Samuels’ dramatic exit. Although Monique’s violent feud with Candiace Dillard didn’t sit well with the show’s more pacifistic audiences, Monique’s departure from the show will inevitably leave a large umbrella-shaped hole in the Potomac franchise. In order to satisfy Monique’s drama-starting quota in her absence, Bravo knew the new housewife they hired to take the Not For Lazy Moms founder’s mantle must be the full package. Fortunately, Mia’s extensive resumé and ambitious attitude prove she is the perfect pick to replace Monique Samuels’ vacant post and join The Real Housewives of Potomac for their sixth season.

Before exploring reality TV, Mia Thornton created a prosperous career as an entrepreneur and massage specialist. Mia graduated from Charlotte, North Carolina’s Southeastern Institute with a degree in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy. After earning her degree, Mia stayed in Charlotte to launch her career as a clinic director. Mia thrived in business out of college and soon garnered a five-year partnership owning the national franchise, Massage Envy Spas. Recently, Mia has been working at the Joint Chiropractic Doctor Offices, which run across the East Coast from North Carolina to New York. Mia’s ability to maintain her businesses’ success during COVID-19 speaks to her ambition. At the Joint Chiropractic, Mia works with her husband of nine years, Gordon. Mia and Gordon have three children together, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Juliana.

More information on Mia’s personal life can be found on the upcoming The Real Housewives of Potomac star’s Instagram. Mia can be found on Instagram at @mrs.miathornton. Although Mia’s Instagram account currently has less than 5,700 followers, her performance on season six of Potomac will undoubtedly result in an influx of new fans. On Instagram, Mia regularly shares photos that commemorate her family and work accomplishments. Most recently, Mia has used her social media presence to promote her addition to the upcoming season of RHOP. Mia’s Potomac Instagram posts have been embraced by fellow Housewives stars Karen Huger, Robyn Dixon, and RHONY‘s newest housewife Eboni K. Williams.

Aside from her business ventures and Instagram posts, Mia and her husband Gordon are known for their altruistic efforts. Causes the Thorntons’ are known for contributing to include Autism Speaks, A Child’s Place, and the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. Overall, Mia is the perfect addition to season 6 of The Real Housewives of Potomac. As a successful businesswoman and an ambitious mother, Mia is up to the gargantuan task of filling in Monique Samuels’ heels. Before the next season’s premiere, The Real Housewives of Potomac fans should learn not to underestimate Mia Thornton.
