RHOP: Monique Samuels Opens Up on the Death of Her Iconic Pet

The Real Housewives of Potomac star Monique Samuels has opened up on the death of her iconic pet, who often stole the show and scared the ladies. The grey parrot was beloved by all who met him, with the exception of some housewives. He brought comedic timing to the show that can’t be replaced.  Season 5 was an intense season for the housewives as they watched two of their own, Monique and Candiace Dillard Bassett, butt heads over at a winery after months of tension.

Bless the African bird, T’Challa. His mid-air attack on the women at Monique’s lake house during season 5 was the perfect bombardment fans needed to break up the tense episodes. Many Bravo fans had already made T’Challa an honorary housewife since he has brought just as much drama as some women. Those on social media joked that he would be a perfect fit since he had a season-long feud with Karen and pooped on Gizelle Bryant.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Sadly, Monique broke the news that T’Challa had passed away over the weekend, telling fans, “The pain is intense.” The Real Housewives star shared a touching video of her and her pet. In the caption, she wrote that T’Challa was killed by a “freak accident” and that she could hardly believe she was typing the words out to fans.

Monique revealed she had been on an emotional rollercoaster since the sad day and that she and her children couldn’t stop crying. The housewife reminded fans that it was a year ago that her beloved pet flew away but luckily had come home the very next day. Monique added T’Challa to the family only two years ago, saying, “He was on my shoulder as I endured some of the toughest moments of my life.” Monique brought up an old wives tale in a spooky twist where it is believed that an animal will sacrifice itself to save a family member if the angel of death comes near. Monique didn’t go into details regarding T’Challa’s death.

The Real Housewives of Potomac star has been forever touched by her pet bird, and viewers will miss the constant updates of the parrot. T’Challa came into the Samuels home after her husband, Chris, said she couldn’t buy a dog. Monique had even made up her own tagline for her pet telling People’s Reality Check, “I fly above the drama and s— on all my haters.”
