Rust Valley Restorers, the History Channel’s reality TV show that is now out on Netflix, follows Mike Hall and his gang as they restore classic cars to their old glory. The show is now in its third season.
The first two successful seasons of Rust Valley Restorers demonstrated car restorations are something the public is interested in watching. Since then, the History Channel greenlighted, filmed, produced, and released the third season on August 21, 2020. Mike, a proud Canadian, started collecting vintage cars as a teenager and has since amassed a collection of upwards of 400 vehicles. Before he worked in the car restoration business, Mike worked in the construction industry, owning a slope stabilization business called Chimera Springs Rock Works. He took most of the money he made in his business and began investing it into old cars.
In 2020, Mike is 64 years young and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. His estimated net worth is about $2 million. He owns a five-acre lot which is on the market for $1.45 million. This lot includes all the 400 plus cars in his collection. Mike realizes that he owns more than he could possibly fix, so he is looking for a savvy investor to take over. Until then, he keeps working on the cars with his team as he pursues his passion for vintage car restoration. His friends and family worry that he often “fall[s] in love with the car they’re working to restore.” They believe that this can cloud Mike’s judgment and cause him to sometimes sell the car for less than he spent on the restoration in order to give people their dream vehicles.
Mike doesn’t talk much about his family on the show, nor does he keep an active social media account, but we do know he has a wife and kids. His wife, however, does not share his love for vintage car restorations and forbids him from keeping them on their farm. His son Connor is a main member of the cast on the show, yet there is no information available about his other children.
Mike is an interesting character, to say the least. His hippie appearance and experienced car knowledge make him a likable and exciting main character for this reality TV show.
