Ruth & Thomas From Love on the Spectrum Are Now Married!

Curry (and Love on the Spectrum) lovers rejoice! The spicy chicken tikka masala and mild mango chicken from the Netflix show tied the knot. Ruth Wyndham announced her marriage to Thomas in an adorable Instagram post just a few days before the launch of their dating reality show,  Love on the Spectrum.

The new Australian docuseries follows the dating lives of 11 youngsters on the autism spectrum. So far, the series has met with rave reviews. Both critics and fans praised Love on the Spectrum for its authentic portrayal of love and for debunking stereotypes when it comes to dating while on the spectrum. Yes, it has its share of awkward first dates and lists of criteria for future partners, but the show used such dating clichés to show that even people with autism are romantics at heart. Shining a spotlight on this reality of love was the very likable couple, Ruth and Thomas. The twosome describes each other as fire and water and met four years ago via a church group before moving in together last year. Come July 2020, Ruth finally married Thomas, fulfilling her original journal entry written right after meeting the love of her life, which read “Oh I want to marry this guy.”

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Thomas and Ruth’s journey on Love on the Spectrum had all their fans shipping them from the word go! Everyone found Thomas’s love for trains and Ruth’s love for her cat, pet snake, and – of course – Thomas, extremely cute. But they seemed all the more overjoyed with Ruth’s marriage announcement. The Netflix star shared pictures from the wedding of the couple surrounded by an army of loved ones. Tom, who now has a new look with longer blonde locks, looks radiant in Ruth’s posts. The tw0 moved into their dream house by the railway station after the show ended and announced that they’re now “a family of 9!!!” Ruth shared a video of her five new pet chickens named Valerie, Tandoori, Waffles, Pepper, and Mavis. Ruth’s pet snake Cleopatra, who has gained quite a few fans herself after appearing on Love on the Spectrum, also turned two a few days ago. Ruth wrote how the Children’s Python went from being a miniature worm to a 1m long serpent. The antics of Ruth and all her other darling family members can be followed on her Instagram.

Ruth and Thomas’ relationship illustrates the positive impact that love and companionship can have when you experience other challenges in life. Be it the elaborate proposal Thomas orchestrated for Ruth in the bus or the way the couple seems to fit into each other’s lives like a puzzle piece, they’ve shown that love has so many shades that often go unnoticed. The now-married couple has set couple goals all through season one of Love on the Spectrum and viewers hope they get to see more of their public display of adorableness on the upcoming season two of the series.

All episodes of Love on the Spectrum are now available to stream on Netflix.
