The reality show Seeking Sister Wife has showcased some controversial figures, as well as less problematic cast members like Tami Winder, whom we are going to talk about today. She gained recognition after appearing on Seeking Sister Wife season 2 alongside her husband Colton and his second wife, Sophie. Though she may not be in the news due to being notorious, there are a lot of interesting things to learn about this TLC star’s life.
The non-denominational Mormon always wanted to be a sister wife, even before getting married. When Tami appeared on the show, she and other couples had their reasons for living plural marriage lifestyles. She and Colton practiced polygamy and believed that plural marriage would make them become more like God. They’re planning to become gods and goddesses of their own worlds. In her eyes, “There’s no better way to become like God than plural marriage because we believe God lives plural marriage.”
The show introduced the Winder “throuple” with Tami’s daughter, Sadie. Because of their polygamous family, people would often assume they would have many children, as Tami said that having kids measured a woman’s status in polygamy. In response to all the people that questioned her lack of reproduction, she revealed on her blog that the family struggled with infertility. “As far as our family goes, we are frustrated that we have not been able to have more children yet,” she said. She added, “For some of us, it’s a lot harder than making a monthly plan. Sometimes, no matter how much we want plans to work out, they don’t and we’re left wondering why.” However, in November 2019, Sophie announced that she was pregnant. She later gave birth to a boy named Ephraim.

Outside the show, Tami loves reading, gardening. and baking, according to her The Winder Family blog. She’s shared information about some of the desserts that she loves to make, including doughnuts, cakes. and pies, and even gives fans recipes. One of her favorite things to do is read while enjoying hot tea. She told her blog readers that she doesn’t have a favorite genre but she does want a library in her home someday. She also enjoys gardening and says that one of the best things in the world is feeling dirt run between her fingers while smelling the freshly-tilled soil. She has a garden at her house where she grows flowers and vegetables. The family also has an orchard, which provides some of the fruit for Tami’s baked goods. At the family farm, they produce hay and raise livestock.

She describes herself as an introvert, saying that she’s always found it difficult to make friends. When she does hang out with friends, she enjoyed small get-togethers in her backyard. She prefers keeping to herself but participated in the series because she saw it as an opportunity to push herself to do things she wouldn’t normally do. “If you don’t stand up for who you are, then eventually you will fade away,” she said. She continued: “I don’t mean that you always have to be front and center and involved in everything. Rather, I mean that you have to believe in yourself.”
Tami might be the last person a reality TV fan might expect to see on a show, given her lack of drama and quiet lifestyle, but she has proven that she can be happy while showcasing her life in front of millions. By appearing on Seeking Sister Wife, Tami has said that she is able to show other people how great her family is. Her relationship is something that she, Colton, and Sophie have all consented to for their own reasons. Ultimately, they all believe their lifestyles will make them better people.
