Charlotte York is usually the most sensible of her friend group on HBO’s hit series, Sex and the City. She’s been through every kind of relationship high and low. Some of her experiences are hysterical, while others make viewers choke up.
Each relationship that Charlotte has with her best friends also has its fair share of good and bad quotable moments. Charlotte is known for her good manners and well thought out responses, so the few times she says or does something impulsively, it sticks out to fans of the show as some of her funniest or saddest moments.

In season three, Carrie finds herself back in the arms of Mr. Big, despite the fact she’s now dating Aidan and Mr. Big is married to Natasha. Carrie and Mr. Big sneak around the city, knowing that if they were spotted by anyone they knew, it could mean trouble.
Charlotte happens to walk by the sneaky lovers and immediately knows what’s going on. Charlotte is particularly sensitive to this discovery because she’s about to get married and can’t believe her maid of honor would hurt another woman the way Carrie has.

Charlotte is about to marry Trey and needs all the help she can get with her wedding preparations. While Carrie, Miranda, and Samantha are getting fitted for their bridesmaids’ dresses, they’re also discussing their latest relationship drama.
In true Samantha fashion, she manages to drop a couple of curse words as she voices her opinions to her friends, embarrassing Charlotte. Charlotte and Samantha’s interactions are always funny because the two women couldn’t be more opposite.

Charlotte’s marriage to Trey goes bad very quickly. They waited until their wedding night to sleep together, but that magical moment Charlotte was hoping for never happens. Trey has been keeping a secret from Charlotte and that secret ruins their entire marriage in just a few months.
Charlotte feels betrayed by her new husband, but that doesn’t stop her from keeping up the facade that they have the perfect marriage, no matter how much it hurts her to keep living that lie.

In addition to being known for its honest look at dating and relationships, Sex and the City is also known for its fashion statements. The women love clothes and shopping as much as they love dating and men, and they frequently find a way to tie the two things together.
Charlotte knows she has to tell her friends that her marriage is falling apart, so she does it the only way she knows how, by using a fashion metaphor, which not only paints the perfect picture, but it’s also pretty funny.

Shortly after her wedding, Charlotte hesitantly informs her friends that she will be quitting her job. Charlotte is the first of her friends to get married and planning a wedding seems to be a challenge for everyone involved. Charlotte makes an effort to tame her inner Bridezilla as much as possible, but she occasionally crosses the line.
At a dress shop, Charlotte is reminding her best friends that her wedding needs to be perfect and asks them to save their personal drama till after she’s married. She reminds them that the week is about her, which Miranda quickly corrects by telling her she “gets a day, not a week.”
4 Heartbreaking: “Do You Know How Lucky You Are To Have Me?”
Charlotte makes some pretty big changes to her life for the man she loves in season six. She falls in love with Harry, who tells her he can’t marry her unless she’s willing to convert to Judaism. Charlotte agrees to do it and becomes what she thinks is the perfect Jewish housewife for Harry. The problem is, Harry still won’t set a wedding date.
After all of the sacrifices she’s made, Charlotte still isn’t getting what she wants and becomes infuriated at Harry during their first Sabbath dinner together.
3 Funny: “I’m Nice. I’m Pretty And Smart! I’m A Catch!”
Charlotte is one of the most put-together women in the series, so when she lets loose, it’s always funny. Charlotte and her friends go out for a night on the town and Charlotte has a few too many cosmopolitans. Miranda and Carrie find Charlotte on the dance floor, having a great time, and realize that they should probably get their friend home.
On the ferry back to the city, Charlotte has a drunk revelation and tells Carrie that she’s a catch. Carrie agrees and Charlotte goes on to yell “I’m getting married this year!”
2 Heartbreaking: “Maybe We Can Be Each Other’s Soulmates?”
This quote is heartbreaking, but in a good way that makes fans love this show even more. Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha often wonder if they’ll ever meet “the one”.
At the beginning of season four, Charlotte proposes a new outlook on the term “soulmates” and wonders if she and her friend have already met their people. She tells her friends that maybe it’s the four of them who are meant to be. The friends all agree that they are each other’s perfect soulmates.
1 Funny: “I’ve Been Dating Since I Was 15. I’m Exhausted! Where Is He?”
This is probably Charlotte’s most famous and most quoted line from the entire series. In one moment of weakness, Charlotte loses all hope on ever finding the man of her dreams and getting married. She shouts these words in the middle of her daily lunch with her girlfriends.
It seems that at this moment, Charlotte has given up, which should be sad to watch, but she’s clearly just having a moment and once it passes, it’s actually pretty fun to look back and laugh at it.
