Sons Of Anarchy season 7 episode 11 had Jax learn the painful truth about Tara’s death. Kurt Sutter first broke through as a writer for gritty cop show The Shield before moving on to create FX’s Sons Of Anarchy. This series revolves around the biker club SAMCRO and was partly inspired by Hamlet. The show follows Jax (Charlie Hunnam), the son of the club’s former president and his clashes with new leader Clay (Ron Perlman) – who is also married to Jax’s mother Gemma (Katey Sagal).
Sons Of Anarchy was a violent, intense drama that featured great characters, writing and acting. The show ultimately ran seven seasons from 2008 to 2014, and by the time it ended, there weren’t too many main characters left standing. Kurt Sutter would later return to the world of SOA with spinoff Mayans MC. While the show has received a mostly positive reception, Sutter himself was later fired over reports about his behavior during the production of season 2.
Sons Of Anarchy season 7 deals with the aftermath of Tara’s brutal death, with Jax struggling to deal with the emotional fallout of his wife’s murder. It was Gemma who killed Tara following a particularly brutal fight in season 6, but her death is later pinned on a member of triad Henry Lin’s gang. The lies finally catch up in Sons Of Anarchy season 7 episode 11 “Suits Of Woe,” with the ending of the previous episode finding Jax’s young son Abel asking him why his Grandmother killed Tara, which is something he overheard Gemma say.
Naturally, Jax thinks Abel must be confused, but then can’t shake the horrible feeling he’s telling the truth. The centerpiece of Sons Of Anarchy season 7 episode 11 has Jax arrange a meeting with Juice in prison. Juice killed Henry Lin earlier in the episode under SAMCRO instructions, and learned from Lin it was cop Charlie Barosky who sold out the club over the guns. That’s when Jax demands Juice tell him the truth about Tara’s death, with Juice tearfully recounting arriving at the house to find Tara dead and a freaked out Gemma covered in blood. An equally tearful Jax thanks him for telling the truth and promises his end will be quick.
Sons Of Anarchy season 7 episode 11 then finds Gemma going on the run once she realizes Jax has learned the truth. Jax sends men to look for her and meets with Nero, who is equally devastated to learn the truth of Gemma’s actions. Nero knows Jax has murder in mind but warns him a son killing his own mother would only inflict more heartache. Bearing in mind what happens in Sons Of Anarchy’s final two episodes, Nero wasn’t wrong.
