Soul Eater’s Medusa Enters the Kobra Kai Dojo in Creator Fan Art

Unexpected fan art by Soul Eater creator Atsushi Ohkubo shows off the ruthless skills of Medusa as a Cobra Kai disciple. The villain is no stranger to joining villainess organizations as she’s part of the Witch Order, an enemy organization to the Death Weapon Meister Academy. However, her magical skills aren’t the only killer techniques she possesses since her fighting skills are equally on par with any black belt.

Premiering in Square Enix’s Shonen Gangan from 2004 to 2013, Atsushi Ohkubo’s Soul Eater follows weapon meister Maka Albarn and her scythe weapon partner, Soul “Eater” Evans. The duo alongside classmates Black Star, Tsubaki, Death the Kid, and twin pistols Liz and Patty, attend Death Weapon Meister Academy or D.W.M.A, a school created by the Grimm Reaper, Death, to train meisters and demon weapons from preventing the next Kishin uprising. Maka dreams of turning Soul Eater into a Death Scythe to be used by Death, a position that’s currently filled by her father, Spirit. This feat can only be achieved after collecting 99 corrupted “human souls” and one witch’s soul, an unfavorable process for witches like Medusa.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

On Twitter, Atsushi Ohkubo surprised fans with a drawing of Soul Eater witch Medusa, sporting a fierce fighting pose while wearing the black and yellow Cobra Kai dojo colors. The mangaka title the caption “No Mercy” in honor of the dojo’s merciless philosophy along with “Cobra Kai” in bloodshot red. The popular Netflix spin-off series Cobra Kai follows The Karate Kid‘s main villain, Johnny Lawrence, as he takes on the new role of Dojo Master for Cobra Kai. However, as a true master of hand-to-hand combat, Medusa would have made for a great disciple during Cobra Kai’s glory days.

Medusa is a powerful witch with a large soul that helps in enhancing her magical powers and physical attacks through boosts of madness wavelength. Sharing similarities to the Greek goddess, Medusa can also summon 1,000 snakes residing inside of her for powerful arrow attacks like Vector Arrow. As an experienced defensive fighter, she can also use her snakes in special techniques like Vector Plate, which help to enhance her mobility in physical fights, resulting in deadly kicks and punches.

Although a skilled fighter and powerful witch, Medusa is a terrible mother towards her child Crona. As her plans for Crona involve turning them into a powerful Kishin host for the demon Asura. Medusa’s parenting skills are downright neglectful and manipulative. A common tactic used by the previous Cobra Kai dojo master and the ultimate reason why Medusa would make for a perfect disciple in this fun Soul Eater fan art by series creator Atsushi Ohkubo.
