Spider-Man Enters the Multiverse In No Way Home IMAX Poster

Spider-Man enters the multiverse in a new IMAX poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Picking up from Spider-Man: Far From Home’s cliffhanger ending, No Way Home sees Peter Parker grappling with the consequences of Mysterio revealing his secret identity to the world. In an effort to get things back under control, Peter enlists the help of Doctor Strange, but the spell Strange conjures goes haywire, opening up the world to more threats.

As illustrated in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailers, Strange’s spell unlocks portals from other dimensions, allowing villains from previous Spider-Man film franchises to enter the MCU’s prime world. Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock has been an integral part of marketing so far, with Jamie Foxx’s Electro, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, and others confirmed as well. With or without the involvement of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, the multiverse is a big part of No Way Home. It’s a focus of the latest poster released.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Shared by IMAX as an exclusive to Screen Rant, the poster features Spider-Man front and center, swinging from buildings that are clearly warped due to effects from Doctor Strange’s spell. The one-sheet plays up the film’s multiverse angle in the text, encouraging viewers to see No Way Home in the premium format. Check out the poster in the space below:

Like most Marvel movies and big-budget tentpoles, Spider-Man: No Way Home is shaping up to be a must-see in IMAX. The trailers have highlighted plenty of spectacle and action sequences, including the now-famous bridge fight scene featuring Peter and Doc Ock. Previews have also showcased a mind-bending confrontation between Doctor Strange and Spider-Man, so No Way Home should take full advantage of the IMAX format when it opens in December. No Way Home is projected to have the year’s biggest opening weekend, and IMAX screenings should be a big part of that expected haul. The movie is only playing in theaters, so viewers interested in seeing it as soon as possible (to avoid spoilers) have no choice but to see it on the big screen.

The No Way Home IMAX poster is also refreshingly simplistic in design when compared to the regular theatrical one-sheets that have been released. Spider-Man is the only character, and the background is a cool way to convey the film’s multiverse storyline without trying to fit as many villains as possible in limited space. It may not be packed to the brim with details for audiences to analyze as they wait for No Way Home to release, but it’s a great illustration of what director Jon Watts has in store come December.
