The Frog is a new NPC that is part of Stardew Valley’s newest update. This guide will show players where they can find the Frog. Stardew Valley recently received its 1.5 version update which added tons of new content for players to explore. The biggest part of this update is the brand-new location for players to explore, Ginger Island. Ginger Island is a new location full of new characters, caves, volcanoes, and crops to discover. Currently, this update is only available for the PC version of the game but will release for other platforms in 2021. One of the main NPC’s available on Ginger Island is the Frog. Here’s where players can find them.
Once the player unlocks the Frog, they will be given riddles that they need to solve to find out what kinds of crops the Frog wants to be grown. The Frog will give the player a small and vague hint at the type of crop it is with just a few words. For example, the Frog will request a “Long yellow thing” to grow, leading the player to grow wheat in his yard. The player will also be rewarded for each correctly guessed crop the player grows. Here’s how players can find the Frog on Ginger Island.
Where To Find The Frog on Ginger Island
The Frog will be unlocked after the player has created their Sleep Hut on Ginger Island. There will be a cave to the upper-right hand area of the map. Enter the cave to find the Gourmand Frog. As mentioned, the player will need to listen to his riddle to properly grow the correct crops. Here are all the answers for his crop answers.
- Long Yellow Thing: Grow Wheat.
- Pink Thing: Grow Melons.
- Zesty-Ground Fruit: Grow Garlic.
The player will be given 5 Golden Walnuts for each of the correctly guessed crops. Golden Walnuts are the main currency for players to collect while they are on Ginger Island. There is much to explore on Ginger Island like solving a Mermaid’s song, creating the Infinity Blade, and meeting Professor Snail. To even access Ginger Island, the player will need to complete a quest for Willy the Fishermen by helping him repair his boat. This includes going around the island and collecting enough materials. Once the boat is completed, the player will have an oceans-full of new content to find. As mentioned, this is currently only available on the PC version, with other versions getting to update in the near future.
